×Mean Gills / Treebark ×
Marty is a pirate with a long past and one day the fate makes him cross paths with a lonely siren named Scott.

--------------

The wind was strong and the sky was cloudy, the storm was coming. Martyn could feel it. He felt something was odd for a few days now. Hi crew was acting suspicious and today was the least strike.

Martyn was tied up to the pole, they took his sword and left him there.

Until

The first man came holding his lord sword in his hands.

"You suck as captain Littlewoods." He smiled mockingly.

Martyn felt as his ropes got loose.
His chance to escape.

But they saw his moves.
"Not that quick."

The crowd laughed.
Two men took him to the plank.
Martyn tried to escape their grip but they only held him tighter.

The man from earlier took the sword and pointed at Martyn as he stood at the edge.

" It's time for you to join your loyal."

He falls, then the salt tastes in his mouth and the water absorbs him.

"Those f^cking y€rks "

------

Martyn coughed the water out, he was so annoyed and frustrated. How could they just throw him like that! He thought he was part of them but, eventually they decided he was useless for them.

Martyn took off his crew bandana and threw it into the sea .
He didn't know where he was but it was definitely a better place than his old ship with people,he thought he could call friends .

Maybe if Ren was still here... Everything would be different now...
They might be sailing in the far seas together...

He was doing it again, wishing for impossible things and letting the past consume him completely.

Martyn sighed. He slowly got up and he did not bother to brush the sand off himself.
He started touring the unknown island he found himself at.

Little did he know that he was watched by a cyan- haired owner of the island.

-----

There were a lot of it actually, some rocks and a few green spots on the island. Martyn decided to stop at one of those green oasis things.
He wasn't sure if there were any wild animals lining here but better be safe than sorry.

He took some sticks and started making a temporary campfire, he would have to catch some fish later.

( Later he tried to catch something but it turned out, that trying to fish a fish using only your hands is a hard thing to do.)

In the end Martyn had to rely on some fruits he found out on the island.

---

When Martyn finally decided to go to sleep the fire was barely glowing and the cold breeze from the ocean wasn't a comfortable addition to the situation.

Martyn felt his eyes close but not for long. A creak woke him, something must have stepped on some sticks.
He got up and looked around trying to catch a glimpse of something.

Everything around was dark, thick fog was hanging around the ocean. As well as the coldness and smell of the salt water.

But there was one thing that caught Martyn's eyes.

A glowing blue eyes in the bushes. Martyn's eyes locked at the glowing ones. They stared at each other in silence, only hearing the waves hitting the shore.

-----

Martyn's memories were fizzy. He remembered starting at very beautiful eyes and then he was pushed to the ground.. and that was it.

Now he wasn't sure where he was but he found out the owner of those eyes.
It was a Siren, their eyes were shining beautiful as well as their scales.

They dragged Martyn through the water, until they reached a cave.
The Siren dropped him on the sand but didn't run away. Instead it stared at him.

" You are different."

It was now Martyn's time to stare. He wasn't expecting the Siren to be able to speak... Or maybe he didn't really think about it till now.
The siren came closer to him.
"Different than others."

Martyn blink." Uh ... thanks?"

The Siren smiled, showing its sharp teeth.
" I'm Scott, what's your name pretty~?"

Martyn's face turned red, no one called him pretty ... except Ren.
"Uh..Martyn."

Scott laughed. " You're a very brave creature Martyn. Not many people can look at me, not for that long at least." They smiled at him.

Martyn glanced at Scott." Why tho? I think you are a good looking man?uh.. Siren?"

Scott laughed again. He sat on the sand, so its tail was touching the water. "Handsome and flirty huh..."

-----

After a while Martyn sat next to them.
"Are you going to eat me or something?"

Scott looked at him with contempt.
"No, you'll be my lover. It's lovely living here alone you know?"

Martyn stared at their faces as he felt his heart beating faster. Scott was dead serious about its proposal... decision.

" Well but if you don't like it, I can always appreciate some more food."

" I.. think I prefer staying alive, thank you very much."Martyn said looking into the shiny eyes.

Scott smiles." Well then."
Scott took Martyn's hand.
"Welcome to your -our home. 'The hourglass island '."

------

How long has it been my dear since I last saw your face ?Months ...no years definitely years.
I still sometimes see our good days in my dreams but they won't make you come back.
I started a new life, away from the crew and name we created. With a new lover... Don't take it personally you'll forever be my favourite. I just needed to fill the hole after you passed.
Scott is carrying about me just like you always used to.
I can't wait to see you again.
Please wait for me a little longer.

Your Martyn.

P.S.
I love you Ren, I'll always do.
No matter how many more lovers I wouldn't have.
