The following Tuesday night, Karmine was released on a million-dollar bond. Only ten percent of that needed to be paid, which is why Karson told Reighn to get at least a hundred thousand out of the safe. The news crews and reporters were heavily on the steps of the precinct. Judah scooped her up bridal style. She stuck her head in his neck as Reighn dropped the blanket on her shoulders.
As soon as they stepped outside, David, Kayden, and Karson immediately started stiff-arming the crowd with help from the officers. One person even went so far as to try to grab the blanket off Karmine's head, but they were restrained by an officer and thrown to the ground.
"Do you want to be the next muthafucka to die? Back the fuck up!" Judah barked at the reporter who was trying to block him from defending down the stairs. The mug he was sporting was menacing enough to make anybody think twice.
They approached the Tahoe, where Mario was waiting inside to open the door. Judah stepped on the side rail and ducked down as he slid inside. Once they closed the door, he pulled the blanket off her head and began kissing her all over her face. He squeezed her tightly, never wanting to let her go. Mario leaned over and squeezed her right hand before kissing her knuckles.
"Where are we going?" Karmine whispered. She was honestly scared to speak because she felt that her voice and emotions would betray her. She'd only cried twice today, and that was enough for her. She didn't regret taking his life, but she wished it hadn't led to that point.
"Airport, Hawaii. You're not considered a flight risk, and with Dad having Davis, Camden, and the judge in his back pocket, we're good to go until it's time for court. Are you hungry?" Judah pushed her hood back, getting a clear view of her face. The scratches and bruises had him ready to break into the corner's office and set Q's body on fire.
"No, but I need to eat something so I can take some pain medicine. My body hurts."
The mere mention of her being in pain had the boys seething with anger. Judah shook his head. He rubbed Karmine's thigh, trying to calm himself down. He flexed his mouth, licking his lips and pulling them back to expose his clenched teeth. Karmine stuck her hand under his shirt, rubbing his stomach. She needed all the comfort she could get.
"Mann... what is it looking like for niecey?" Kayden asked as they stood at the gas pump.
Karson blew out a breath and shook his head. "2nd degree, but she's pleading self-defense, of course. And if our lawyer doesn't get her off? I'm killing him next. Me and Reighn watched the dash cam footage. Q lucky she did it and not me. He was fighting my baby like she was a nigga on the streets. She held her own, though. The first shot was placed in his shoulder. He was about to come back across the armrest, so she cleared a headshot. Baby didn't even hesitate on either shot."
"He better get her off the fuck?! He has proof of everything: from the stalking and threats to harassment. And let's not forget to mention he threatened to kill her and Judah. I kept proof of everything just in case. Karmine Amorra won't be doing any time as long as I have breath in me!" Reighn screamed. Karson pulled her into his chest, rubbing her back as she cried.
