"I've been infatuated with you since I was only seventeen, P'Ling."

My whole body freezes with this sudden realization. Words are stuck in my throat and I cannot even think about anything.

"You are always the only one in my heart, P'Ling. Before or even now." She then chuckles slightly, "Seeing you being this shocked, I was not that significant in your life before, right?"

I know she tries to mask her pain by joking but I will not let her hide anymore.

"Please tell me your side of our story, Nong Orm. Tell me everything, and I'll tell mine."

I will never forget the first time I met her, the moment Lingling Kwong walked in through that door. How I just could not take my eyes off her, not even minding other dozens of people attending the acting class.

The curiosity that started to grow in me made me feel so confused. I had crushes on other girls before but I still could not describe these multiple feelings that I was feeling at once for her. All I knew was it was not just a simple crush, it was way more complicated than that.

Since day one, I already noticed both of us were the total opposite. She seemed cold because of her quiet personality, but I knew deep down she was just shy and a cute baby. So, whenever we were at an event together, I'd always make sure she wouldn't get left out. And eventually, she noticed my sweet subtle gestures and thanked me in her own way.

"This is for you." She handed me a plate of Thai omelette and quickly scurried away like her life depended on it.

Orm and omelette. How creative.

I then ran to find her, only to see her staring at the sunset with awe in her eyes.

She was so pure and untouchable. Truly ethereal that my heart always fluttered when I was with her.

"It's beautiful, right?" I said while never leaving my eyes on her beautiful face.

She gazed at me for a second before looking back to the sunset again. "Yes. So beautiful."

"Thank you for the omelette, P'Ling. Let's share together, can we?"

I seemed to take her off guard but she immediately looked calm and collected like her usual self.

"Alright."

We then ate in silence as I chose to not say anything, thinking she might feel uncomfortable if I talked a lot.

"Thank you for being so kind to me, Nong Orm. Actually, I just moved here not long ago so my Thai is not that good. And given my personality, it's even harder for me to open up." I will always remember her soft gaze that would melt any ice in this world when she thanked me.

"You're a wonderful person, P'Ling. Just tell me if you need me."

.

"Yes, smart girl."

We rarely had any occasion to meet these days but whenever we did see each other, I'd make most of the time to break the ice between us.
