27 - She Means A Lot To Her

No matter how long we've been together, I know Lingling will still get so shy whenever I stare at her that she blushes so hard while trying to avoid my gaze.

When I asked her why, she would stammer cutely and run away from me, not wanting to answer this question at all. But today, I am determined to get my answer before she goes to work all day.

"I'm sorry I couldn't accompany you at the Maya Awards, Nong." I giggle giddily when I feel her lips pressing over my cheeks, my jaw, all the way to my forehead.

Grabbing her face and pinching her cheeks gently so I can gaze into her soothing dark eyes, I peck her lips and say, "Tee rak, you've said sorry for the tenth time already! Don't worry, I'd miss you of course but I can handle it, alright?"

"I believe you'd shine like a star that you are, Nong. But this is the first award that we would receive trophies from, how I'd want to see you go up on stage to share your acceptance speech with my own eyes." She pouts with glints of disappointment in her eyes that make me hug her tight immediately. This precious baby, her sincerity always makes me fall harder every single day.

"Please know that even if you're not physically there with me, I can still feel your presence here, P'Ling." Guiding her hand to touch my chest where my heart is, I smile widely at her to give her more assurance that I will always receive her love wherever we are. "And I believe we'd have the chance to go to the awards show hand in hand, or even go up on stage together to receive the best couple awards! Never stop dreaming, right?" Putting my fists together, I pump one of them into the air and cheer, "We can do it!"

Lingling eventually giggles along at my bubbly energy while sighing in relief when both of our laughter dies down. She then taps my nose and shows me my favorite eye-smile. "How cute you are, Nong...What can I do without you? Only you who can lighten up my world this way."

"Well, who said it's free? I just made you smile so I want my payment." I wiggle my eyebrows mischievously which makes P'Ling chuckle instantly as she seems to already see this coming. She knows me so well. "What is it this time, Nong Orm?"

Without saying anything, I just stare at her with a wide smile, admiring her beauty inside and out. My eyes would stay on her dark orbs the longest, and then unconsciously land on her pink lips, one of my favorite colors. When I finally focus on her gorgeous face, I notice her cheeks also turn the same color as her lips with a blend of redness.

"Is-is there something on my face, Nong?"

I grin when I hear her stumble on her words as I let my fingers caress her blushing cheeks. "I noticed ever since we had our first workshop last year, you'd have this cute reaction whenever I look at you, P'Ling. Your face flushes red instantly, even now. Care to finally give me an explanation now, Tee rak?"

She blinks a few times and starts to avoid my gaze as if just got caught doing something bad. Fortunately, I manage to wrap my arms around her waist, giving her a sweet back hug when she tries to leave. "Nope, can't escape, Tee rak."

Our laughter once again fills the room as Lingling playfully sways her body to make me release her. "Nong..."

"Nope!"

"I added a new rule! Don't tease the bodyguard!"

"We're together already, Lingling Kwong. We don't need to have 'practicing' as a reason to kiss anymore." Pulling her chin toward me, I swiftly place my lips on top of hers as both of us just freeze to enjoy this feeling. To have this kind of freedom to love and be loved by P'Ling still seems like a dream to me.
