Lost Friends

You know those ones you're for sure going with to the end.
Those ones that you thought no matter what your bond wouldn't bend.
Those ones going through whatever and to you a text; they can send.
There to support you with a smile during every win.
There to watch you bring babies into this world with a grin.
Before getting your lives together you probably did every sin.
Did you know that'd be the point when you lost your friends?
When the static and trauma of the adult life begins?
How many did you lose to the grave or the pen?
These thoughts bring tears to my eyes, does anyone have a tissue they can lend?
I allow my thoughts to flow differently.
I allow my memories to hinder me.
Especially with friends I'll never get to see grow old.
They'll never get to see their dreams unfold.
Get that big house, big family and nice car like we were told.
We not even gone acknowledge the ones that do fold.
How can we not expect the devil to bring the heat when we tell him it's cold?
I mean it's not hard for people to pretend.
Stay guarded against the world and be no different to your friends.
Never tell your left hand on your right.
If they beg for space, don't put up a fight.
Sometimes distance means life ain't like flying a kite.
It doesn't mean offend your friends out of spite.
Are they worth your love and support?
Before the argument, all parties knew life was short.
Will you carry your respect and their respect for you on your sleeve like an escort?
Respect, Loyalty and compassion should be the foundation of your fort.
It's not a loss if they only loaded their problems on you like a port.
Do you have friends to travel to places like New York?
Do they have goals that'll inspire you?
Do they give you advice like "I'd do this if I were you " ?
Do they realize they're a ball of fire and spark your flame too?
Do they support your business till the point that to every potential buyer, they name you?
Do they ever put you on game boo?
Help you stay out the way of lame broads or lame dudes?
Maybe you're the type to hang with a crew.
A group of different personalities could be too much for a few.
It usually highlights the problem friends when presences are withdrew.
Noticed how everyone but that one can be cool?
Bring them around your other friends and they act a fool?
Bad attitudes, bad vibes.. just acting crude?
Other environments they're everything less than rude?
Their time in your space is temporary.
The way they truly feel about you will be scary.
It'll make you reflect hard on the parts of you that you were sharing.
You'll feel uncomfortable thinking that was a life time pairing.
You'll realize you opened a peephole to your soul and a demon was staring.
