Granny never missed a Sunday of church.
Even if she on the clock, she headed there after work.
Who ever introduced you to the lord first?
Did it take a tragedy that made you feel cursed?
I've had moments that'll make you carry a Bible in your purse.
But I got my granny to thank when I make it to heaven.
Being her shadow, I've had this Sunday routine since I was seven.
I was the youngest in Sunday school while everybody almost eleven.
I Didn't know a thing about Noah or his Ark.
I just remember granny promising a trip to the water park.
Around thirteen I'd say is when my relationship with Christianity Start.
Before I share God, May I share the people of the church part?
Do you ever listen to the pastor preach and feel like they know your heart?
Yea, Some Sundays feel like they're preaching about you and tearing you apart.
Me and my young relatives shared good laughs with the kids there
Especially when people caught the "Holy Ghost" and started jumping around everywhere.
Until our folks gave us those death stares.
" Money is the root of all evil " they always teach.
But when the collection plate comes around, everybody reach.
Until the donations are gave, the pastor doesn't even speak.
Granny always gave us dollars to give.
She claimed we had to pay tithes to live.
Do you think that's real?
Actually apart of Gods Will?
Or we paying the pastors bills?
So they can go chill ?
But I was just a child so I sat still.
Now it was prayer time.
Clock read twelve thirty and we been here since nine.
My granny told me to hurry up and get in line.
I walked up to the last person and stood behind.
The pastor asked "for you, what would you like for God to keep in mind?"
Young and naive, I replied everything Is fine.
At this age, I'd just say for life to be kind.
I made it back to my seat.
After every service, we'd go out to eat.
Some Sundays we'd get ice cream for a treat.
I always found my granny consistency so neat.
I believed in God more when her breast cancer was beat.
I know her prayers are heard soon as they pass her teeth.
I'll never disappoint her and aim for eternal life in the underneath.
I'll do anything for another day in church with my granny and me.
