It wasn't hard, by the time the two had made it to the house, they were loading up the van. By they, it was Wilma the mystic, Rosie, Ben, and Zoe's grandfather. "Hey, they're here!" Rosie yelled, pointing at the car.
"Are you sure that thing's going to run?" Daniel asked, getting out of the car as his sister parked.
"100%," the old man promised.
"Then let's get going, we've probably already missed the ferry," Lainey told them, rushing all of them in the van. Rosie and Ben took the back while the twins were in the second row and the oldest took the front seats.
"Don't worry, I have a friend," the old man told them as he started off down the road.
They made it to the pier where Pin and Zoe were standing, looking lost and disappointed. Frank honked the horn, "I heard you might need a ride!"
Zoe's eyes lit up as she walked over, "Wait, how did you know we were stranded?"
"Mom called," Rosie told her, hopping out of the van.
"We can grab a lift on my friend's trawler, but we have to go now!" Frank emphasised and Pin smiled, starting to walk over.
"I have to call Lainey. She'll be so mad at me."
"Don't bother," his girlfriend said, walking out of the van with her arms crossed. "I am mad, but that's for later, now let's go so that all four of us don't miss this!"
"Four?" Zoe questioned and Danny popped out with a large smile. "Daneil! You came after us?"
"Of course," he smiled and pulled her into the van as they all took seats and Frank started off to his friend's port.

A few hours later and Danny and Zoe were trapped in a conversation and Lainey was talking to Pin with her legs over his. "Why didn't you show up?"
He sighed, looking down. "My mom left again."
Her eyes softened and she ran a hand through his hair. "Well today, you're going to go Nationals, sign in. Tomorrow, you're going to ride like your life depends on it, steel the medallion, and win. Day after, we'll go home basking in our new win."
"Medallion?" Zoe questioned and Lainey looked over at her.
"Every year, the different teams fight to get the medallion from whoever got it the previous year. This year St. James Academy has it. You have to steal it and your entire team has to protect the person who stole it as they run from one side of the arena to the other."
"That and there's a lot of other traditions, such as getting drunk after winners are announced and shagging in every place imaginable," Daniel shook his head in disgust, having remembered some weird things that he saw in previous years of watching Mia compete.
Suddenly, there was a loud boom and Frank pulled the van over. They all got out as Frank looked over it. "It's probably the throttle valve again," he told them and Lianey closed her eyes with a sigh, that didn't sound good. "Or it could be the oil, or maybe..."
"You forgot to put fuel in the tank?" Wilma questioned.
He got up from the ground, "oh as if I'd forget a fundamental thing like tha—I forgot to put fuel in the tank."
Lainey groaned as Zoe shook her head, "we have to get gas, now!"
"I'll look up the nearest gas station," Rosie said, taking out her phone, only for there to be no reception. "No signal."
"We can ask someone for a ride," Daniel said, only for them to look around and there be no cars.
"Or we'll walk, really fast," Zoe rolled her eyes.
