Chapter 2

Clementine's POV

"Where is she? Oh lord okay let's see here."

Ruby lifted up my shirt as I winced again, I got multiple apologies from her as she continued to work.

"Alright Clem this is gonna hurt like a bitch but I have to clean your wound, remove the piece of metal, and then stitch it."

I nodded as I felt a hand grab mine, I looked over to see Vi with a small compassionate smile on her face. Ruby asked,

"Alright Clem, are you ready?"

"One thing before you start,"

I grabbed Violet's face and kissed her. It was full of love and the feeling of her soft lips calmed me down immediately. She looked at me with a huge smile as Ruby butted in,

"Alright lovebirds. We have to do this thing now."

I nodded and grabbed Violet's hand, I felt a little better knowing she was there for me through this. I saw Ruby lift up the peroxide as I closed my eyes. She dumped a good amount on the wound as I groaned in pain.

"Sorry sorry,"

She muttered. I couldn't be mad, she was helping me plus I knew it was only gonna get worse. After the horrible cleaning I saw Ruby take out a pair of pliers.

"Fuck,"

I muttered as she pulled apart the wound.

"Vi hold her down please,"

Is what I heard as I yelled in pain. I tried my best to stay still but that was hard with someone digging around in your skin. After what felt like forever Ruby finally removed the pliers from my body, and with the pliers came a huge shard of metal. I gasped in pain as she pulled once more to fully remove it. I wanted to sleep but I knew we weren't done yet, I just had to survive one more round of pain. Ruby brought out a needle and some sutures and she began stitching. It's not the first time I've had to be stitched up but damn did it hurt. About five minutes later everything was done. I was stitched and bandaged and could finally relax. Louis picked me up and carried me to my room where he then laid me down on my bed. He patted me on my head which earned him one of my eye rolls. He smiled at me and walked out as Violet walked in. She sat down on the bed next to me and just stared into my eyes. Looking into her pretty green eyes always calmed me down.

"Hey babe. You should probably get some sleep, your body's been through a lot."

I nodded and slowly closed my eyes. I felt the weight on the bed shift and heard Violet start to get up. I reached out and grabbed her wrist,

"Wait. Stay with me?"

I opened my eyes a bit to see her smiling at me. She nodded and laid down next to me. I cradled my head into her neck and finally feeling calm, I fell asleep. I woke up still in Violet's arms and I smiled a bit. I looked up to see her staring at me and smiling.

"Hey babe, how do you feel?"

Violet whispered which sent shivers down my spine.

"Still hurts but I'll be okay."

She smiled.

"I know you will but you still need to rest. That means you're not leaving this room today."

I sighed,

"Vi please. You know I don't like feeling like I'm useless."

Vi kept her gaze locked on my eyes,

"Clem. You are not useless. Look, you saved us and now you're hurt. So for today you're staying here."

I knew I wasn't going to change Vi's mind so I nodded as there was a knock at the door.

"Come in!"

Ruby walked in with bandages and peroxide in hand.

"Alright shug, you know what time it is."

Violet stood up but stayed next to my bed. Ruby unwrapped the bandages and started cleaning the wound. It hurt but not as bad as the first time. She changed my bandage and then left to go take her shift on watch. Violet looked at me and said,

"Alright Clem get some sleep. I'm going hunting with Louis and I'll bring you dinner later."

I nodded,

"Be careful. Please."

She smiled and kissed me before she left. I was left alone to look at the ceiling until I finally closed my eyes and went to sleep.
