A New World ~ Violentine

Chapter 1

Clementine's POV

I took a deep breath and all I could smell was smoke. I opened my eyes and saw flames. I tried to sit up but as I did I felt a sharp pain in my side. I looked down to see blood where I felt the pain. I couldn't worry about myself right now, I had to find the others.

"Clementine!"

I looked over to see Violet, Louis, and AJ in the room across from me. The wall they were in front of had exploded and there was a way to safely climb down. I knew I had to get over there but with the wound I had it wasn't going to be easy. I struggled to stand but I eventually did. I looked over to Violet to see her staring at me with worry in her eyes. I looked around to see if there was anything I could use to make the way over easier but there wasn't. As I took my first step I felt the boat rock. I heard Louis yell (pretend his tongue wasn't cut out)

"Clem you have to hurry!"

I didn't know if I could make it off in time but I needed those three to get off so I yelled in response,

"Go! Jump off! I'll be right behind you!"

They were hesitant but one by one they eventually jumped off. The pain in my side was excruciating but I had to move and fast. I started jogging to the other room but halfway there I realized there was a crack in the floor. I moved back to get a running start as the boat lurched forward. I fell over the crack and rolled till I hit the wall. Once my body smacked the wall a wave of pain washed through me as my vision started to blur. I stood up not acknowledging the pain and found where the hole to the outside was. The boat was tilted enough to the point where I could get to the ground without seriously breaking anything, so I jumped. My body hit the ground as I heard the boat go under, I made it just in time. There were still zombies in the water slowly moving towards me, but I couldn't move.

"Clem!"

That was the last thing I heard before the world went black.

I woke back up to the sounds of slashing and walkers groaning. I opened my eyes to see Violet and Louis fighting the walkers as they tried to come onto the beach. I forced myself to stand up through the pain as Louis turned around.

"Vi she's up, we gotta go."

Violet nodded as they made their way towards me. I pulled out my knife and started to slowly move towards the trees. I made it about three steps before I fell to my knees. The pain was too much but I felt a pair of arms lift me up. I turned to see Violet placing my arm around her.

"Louis take care of the walkers I got Clem."

Louis nodded and we walked together trying to get back to the school. I managed to mutter certain words.

"Where's AJ?"

Vi looked at me and smiled,

"He made it back to the school with the others."

A small smile appeared on my face, AJ was safe. That was all I cared about. Walking got harder and harder but I knew I had to keep pushing, with the amount of walkers around because of the explosion I couldn't leave Vi and Lou to deal with them and me. After about five minutes of walking I could finally see the school gate, and it felt so great to be home. We moved a bit faster so we could get inside the gate because I needed to see Ruby. Violet was worried sick, I was her girlfriend and she couldn't bear to lose me. Thinking about how much Vi cares about me made me blush a bit and it was a good distraction from the pain in my side. We got through the gate as I was laid on one of the picnic tables that had been reset.

"Ruby, where are you? We need you here now! It's Clem!"

Violet was going crazy trying to find our makeshift doctor while Louis stayed by my side.

"How you feelin Clemster?"

"Disgusted that you just called me Clemster."

Louis laughed and I started to until it brought back the pain. He immediately snapped out of his joke and went back to trying to help.

"You're okay Clem. Ruby will be here in a second."

I nodded, grabbing my side. I felt tears were forming but I still had no clue what had happened, I never looked. I winced as I lifted up my shirt seeing a gash with something sharp sticking into my abdomen.

"Hey...holy shit,"

Was all I heard come out of Violet's mouth with Ruby not far behind.
