Chapter 10

Violet's POV

When Clem went limp in my arms I didn't know what else to do but yell for Louis to help. He helped me carry her body into the dorms where Ruby was almost fully set up.

"Set her down on that bed GENTLY. Omar check her pulse for me."

"She has one but it's very weak, and getting weaker..."

"Who even was that guy?"

"Why was he speaking so gross towards her?"

"GUYS! Later we need to focus on Clem right now!"

"Yeah."

"Yes."

"Sorry."

Ruby immediately got to work once Clem was set down.

"Okay. Alright. I got this."

"Ruby, can you do this?"

"No. Yeah I can. I just don't want to remove it out of the fear it makes her lose more blood and kills her."

"Ruby she's already bleeding really fucking bad. She'll die if you don't take it out."

"But what if I take it out causing.."

"RUBY! She'll die anyway! Please give her a chance to survive! I need her!"

I felt the tears start to well in my eyes as Louis put his hand on my shoulder. Ruby got serious immediately and nodded with a stern face.

"I'll bring back our Clementine."

I smiled while the tears rolled down my face.

"Thank you."

"Everyone out. I need room to work. Even...even you Vi. I'm sorry."

"No yeah I get it."

Everyone started to walk out of the room in silence wondering what would happen to Clem. She made them all hide, once again protecting the group and sacrificing her own health. The group sat down on one of the tables in the courtyard and started to talk.

"Do you guys think she'll make it?"

"She has too."

"She will."

I was silent, I couldn't say anything without breaking into tears.

"Who the fuck was that guy?"

"I have no idea, but he and Clem obviously had history."

"He sounded like a creep. Who talks to a girl like that?"

Louis suddenly looked up,

"Wait, was that the guy she mentioned during our first time playing cards?"

Everyone looked at Louis confused, even I lifted my head.

"When I asked her if she ever had a boyfriend, she told us about how she hasn't but she knew a guy who had a huge crush on her. She spent time with their group and found him annoying. She specifically stated she didn't see him as more than a younger brother she wanted to slap a lot."

"Oh my god Lou you're right."

This was the first thing I was able to say without tears forming.

"What was his name?"

"Gabe. I'm going to kill him."

"Honestly Clem may beat you to that Vi. She seemed really unhappy with what they were talking about."

"Yeah you're right. When she wakes up and wants to talk about it we'll get more details, but for now we should probably make dinner so it's ready when Ruby comes out."

"Of course."

Everyone set off to different areas while Omar started to cook dinner.
