Chapter 5

"So, are you up for walking home together?" Will asked as he and Nico made it outside of the classroom of their last class of the day.
"Oh, my dad will be picking me up at the front." Nico said, looking at Will. "And, you're seriously not sick of my presence after being with me all day?"
Will blinked but he smiled at Nico.
"Nah! Like I said, you're cool!" Will exclaimed.
Nico's cheeks warmed up and he rolled his eyes. How could Will still think he was cool?

Will and Nico continued to walk alongside with each other towards the front of the school, exiting the building. Nico had instantly noticed his dad waiting in the car nearby the front. Nico stopped walking and Will also stopped, turning to face Nico.

"Erm, my dad is just up ahead there, so... I guess I'll see you tomorrow?" Nico said, looking at Will.
Nico was about to walk off but Will gently grabbed Nico's wrist.
"Ah! Wait, is it okay if I get your number?" Will asked as he grabbed his phone out with his free hand.
Nico stared at Will.
"Really?" Nico questioned.
"Well, yeah." Will smiled.

Will took his hand away from Nico's wrist and handed his phone towards Nico once he turned it on and unlocked the screen.
"I- yeah, okay, sure." Nico smiled at Will.
Nico took Will's phone and he clicked onto Will's contacts, creating a new one.

Nico typed in his phone number and he handed Will his phone back.
"Message me whenever, I am usually free." Nico said.
Will smiled as he typed in a contact name for Nico.
"Gotcha, I will send you a message later on." Will said, stuffing his phone into his pocket.

"Erm, I'll see you tomorrow, Nico."
Will was about to turn around to walk off. Nico gave Will a small smile and waved slightly at him.
"Yeah, later, Will." Nico nodded.
Will smiled and he turned away, walking off.

Nico smiled to himself as he made his way over towards his dad's car and he decided that he'd get into the passengers seat this time. Nico opened up the door and he sat in.

"Who was that boy?" Hades asked, looking at Nico as Nico fastened his seat belt.
"Oh, just a friend." Nico said.
"Mmhm..." Hades hummed. "Did anything happen today? Did you get in a fight with anyone?"

"Oh, I may have made someone hate me because I snapped back at them when they were being homophobic about my new friends."
"Nico-!"
"I wasn't expelled! I call that a successful day! And I made three friends. Sooo~"
"... I- I'm very proud of you for making friends and trying to stick up for them."

Nico couldn't help but smile at his father letting him away with being rude to a person and possibly making an enemy at this new school just by saying he made three new friends.

"What did I tell you?!" Percy shouted over the phone.
Nico grimaced as Percy shouted at him.
"Ugh, shut up, I know." Nico rolled his eyes. "You told me that I'd make friends easily at this school and you were right. Happy?"
Percy smiled at Nico and Nico couldn't help but smile back at the image of Percy on his screen.

"Though, one of them is Annabeth's cousin. How come you didn't tell me Magnus went to my new school?" Nico asked
"Oh! Must've slipped my mind honestly." Percy said, scratching his chin with his finger.

"But hey, I'm glad you didn't get into too much trouble. And I'm glad that this Will guy is being a huge help to you!"
Nico felt his heart flutter at the mention of Will's name. Percy raised an eyebrow as there was a strange look on Nico's face.

"... Soo, how do we feel about this Will?" Percy smirked.
Nico's cheeks turned red as Percy was implying something.
"What? Normal, I guess?" Nico shrugged. "I mean, he's sort of cute. And sorta weird. Very bubbly and extroverted. Complete opposite of me, if I'm being honest."
Percy hummed, still smirking at Nico.
