Chapter 19

Dinner wasn't super awkward. Hades was polite and he made some conversation with Will. Will was polite back. Hades noticed that Nico seemed to have been crying, but Nico said that things were okay and he was just telling Will some tough stuff.

The dinner itself was delicious. It tasted like authentic Italian pasta. Will asked how Hades made it and Hades said it was his wife's recipe that he learned from. Nico complimented his father's cooking, saying it tasted like how his mother used to make it. Will felt slightly strange to be in the middle of that sweet sombre moment, but it was okay.

Now, Will was in Nico's room. He had changed into his pyjamas, getting comfortable. Nico was now changing into his pyjamas in the bathroom. Will wore a random t-shirt along with some shorts. Will was sitting on Nico's bed, just waiting patiently for Nico to come back.

Will glanced around Nico's room a bit more. He took in the posters stuck on the wall, bands that Nico liked. On Nico's dresser, there was a little jewellery box and there were some rings in front of the box. Will assumed inside the jewellery box was some other stuff, and he decided to not snoop.

"My room is not that interesting, I don't know why you keep looking around."
Will looked over and saw Nico entering the room, wearing a baggy band t-shirt along with some shorts. Nico ruffled the back of his hair as he made his way over and sat down next to Will. Nico brought his legs up onto the bed and crossed them.
"Well, I now know what sort of bands you like." Will said, pointing at the posters.

"And I see that you have quite a bit of jewellery that you don't wear."
Nico glanced at the jewellery box.
"Oh, a lot of that stuff is Bianca's." Nico said, shrugging slightly. "Dunno, I feel weird wearing some of them."
Will hummed.
"... Do you mind if I look at some of the stuff in the box?" Will asked.
Nico got up from his bed, going over to his dresser and grabbing the box.
"Not at all." Nico said, going over and sitting down next to Will again.

Nico opened the jewellery box and Will looked in it. A lot of it looked like silver jewellery.
"Huh, you guys were similar. Silver jewellery." Will said.
"Well, silver suits us more than gold." Nico shrugged, looking at his silver skull ring.
Will hummed and he reluctantly put his hand in the box and picked up a necklace with a star charm dangling from it.

"Did your sister like the stars?" Will asked, dangling the necklace in front of Nico.
Nico looked at the necklace and he gently took it from Will's hand.
"Loved them." Nico said. "We used to stargaze whenever I couldn't get to sleep. She'd tell me about the constellations, and she also liked the Goddess Artemis. Bianca sort of introduced me to Greek mythology, in fact, she got me that game, Mythomagic, for me."

Will hummed, looking at Nico.
"I think you'd suit this." Will said, tapping the star charm.
Nico looked at the necklace.
"I... I don't know." Nico said quietly.
Will looked at Nico and he gently took the necklace from Nico.
"I'm sure your sister would love to know that you'd be wearing her stuff, remembering her, telling someone all this stuff about her, honouring her memory."

Will shuffled to go sit behind Nico. Nico looked to see Will was putting the necklace on for him. Nico looked down at the star charm as Will clasped the necklace from behind. Will had clasped it and let go of the necklace, the cold metal hitting Nico's skin, causing Nico's breath to hitch.

Nico looked down, lifting the star charm as Will shuffled next to him again.
"What'd I say? You suit it." Will smiled at Nico.
Nico swallowed but he smiled and he looked at Will.
"Mmh, thank you." Nico said. "...Bianca would appreciate that I'm wearing this."
Will kept smiling at Nico.
"Of course." Will said softly.

Nico shut the jewellery box and he got up again, going over and setting it down on his dresser again. Nico turned around and he leaned against his dresser, looking at Will.
"So... where did we leave our conversation off?" Nico asked.
"I think... I was telling you how amazing you are." Will smiled at Nico, leaning back and holding himself up with his hands behind him on the bed.
Nico bit his inner cheek, smiling slightly.
