Chapter 11

"I'm spending too much time with you today." Nico said as he and Will were walking together to Will's place.
Will smiled at Nico.

"You telling me that you wouldn't be texting and calling me if you went home today anyway?" Will questioned raising an eyebrow.
"Yeah, but if I call or text you, if I have enough of you, I can just hang up or ghost you for a few hours." Nico said, shrugging.
"... That's mean, di Angelo. I thought you loved my presence." Will frowned.

Nico looked up at Will.
"Mmh, stay in denial, it'll help you sleep better at night!" Nico exclaimed.
Will frowned even more.
"I- Nico!!" Will wailed.
Nico laughed and he nudged Will in the arm.
"Oh relax! You know that I'm joking!" Nico smiled.

"... I'm telling my mom how mean you are to me."
"Oh wow, really? That's childish."

Nico and Will continued to keep up this playful banter as they walked alongside to Will's place. Eventually, they made it to Will's house and Will instantly went up to the front door. Nico slowly followed behind as he now fiddled with his hands. Will glanced over his shoulder and saw how nervous Nico was.

"Hey, it's all good." Will smiled. "It's just a quick hello, then we can do whatever we want. And we can order something for dinner, whatever you want!"
Nico fiddled with the skull ring around his finger and Will looked down at the skull ring. Will noticed that Nico wore that ring everyday, it seemed to be something that he treasured.

Will turned around and stepped closer to Nico. Will gently took Nico's hand and held it in his.
"You're gonna be fine." Will said softly. "It's just my mom. And she's an absolute sweetheart."

Nico felt his cheeks warm up as he looked down at his and Will's hands. Will had interlocked their fingers and... it felt right to just be holding Will's hand. Nico felt as though his hand fit perfectly into Will's. Will's skin was soft, his fingers were long and his fingertips felt a little rough.

Nico looked up at Will and their eyes met. Nico stared into Will's eyes as Will stared into his. Nico did feel his nerves calm down a little as Will held his hand and looked down at him.

"... Okay." Nico said, taking a deep breath. "Okay, I'm ready."
"You sure?" Will asked, squeezing Nico's hand.
Nico nodded at Will, smiling at him.
"With you by my side? Always." Nico replied.
Will's cheeks turned red and he smiled at Nico.
"What a flirt~" Will teased.
Nico rolled his eyes.

Will then stepped closer to the front door and he kept holding Nico's hand as Nico still followed behind him. Will opened the front door and he stepped in with Nico, shutting the door behind them.
"Momm! I'm back! Nico's here too!" Will called as he kicked his shoes off, not wanting to let go of Nico's hand.
Nico managed to take off his boots with the one hand and set them aside neatly.

Nico looked over and he saw an older woman coming over. Her eyes made her seem kind, they looked calm and her hair curled around her ears. Nico took a second and he blinked as he recognised this woman.

"Wait! Your mom is Naomi Solace?! The singer?!" Nico questioned, looking at Will.
Will blinked at Nico's astonishment.
"Oh uh... yeah?" Will smiled at Nico.
Nico stared at Will, blinking at him.
"You- you never... thought to mention that?" Nico questioned.
"Well... it's not as if my mom is super popular. Yeah, she has a lot of fans but, well... not a lot of people know who she is?" Will shrugged.

"... William, honey, do you want to get grounded?" Naomi questioned.
Will blinked and he looked at his mother.
"No! Mom, you know what I mean!!" Will exclaimed. "You're popular, but you're not as popular as like... Taylor Swift, for example!"
"You're really boosting my ego, kid." Naomi said, raising her eyebrows at her son.
"I-!" Will's cheeks turned red from embarrassment.
