Nico was quietly reading in his English class. Everyone was reading, or well... supposed to reading. For the first 20 minutes of their double period of English, apparently they were supposed to read.

Nico was reading the first book of this book series. It was quite interesting, if he was honest. It included elves (not the type you were thinking of) with abilities such as reading minds, knowing how others are feeling, turning invisible, that sort of thing. And some of the characters seemed quite charming.

Well, Nico was reading in peace before a stack of books were placed in front of him. Nico looked up and the teacher smiled at Nico.
"Nico, could you be a dear and take these books back to the library for me?" Nico's English teacher asked.
Nico slid his bookmark into the page and he shut the book.

Well, that was disappointing. He was looking forward to where the story was going.

"Erm, won't I miss out on the work-?" Nico began.
"Oh, William can catch you up on it when you return!" She smiled, glancing at Will. "Won't you, Mr Solace?"
"Will, and... yeah, of course." Will said, nodding as he glanced at Nico.
Nico smirked at the teacher using William instead of Will, making Will's cheeks warm up.

Nico sighed as he set his book down and he got up from his seat, tucking it in before grabbing the pile of books. Nico turned away and he left the classroom, feeling people looking at him as he walked out.

Nico managed to make it to the library easily. Though, Nico did notice Piper and Leo walk out of the way from the library, Leo leaning against Piper and complaining that Reyna and Jason were being so boring. Nico didn't look at them, but he just overheard that snippet of their conversation as they walked by each other.

Nico made it to the library and he went over to the little counter nearby the entrance and to the librarian there.
"Erm, I'm here to return these books for-?" Nico began, setting down the pile on the counter.
"Ah yes, thank you. I was wondering when these would be returned." The librarian said, clicking some stuff on the computer. "If that's all, you may go."

Nico glanced around and he looked over to see Reyna and Jason at a table, with a pile of books and they were writing things into their notebooks. And Jason seemed to be wearing glasses, he didn't wear them earlier... Perhaps he only wore his glasses when he really needed them. Reyna looked over and Nico blinked, feeling a shiver down his spine as Reyna met his gaze. Reyna blinked and she waved Nico over. Nico fiddled with his hands and he furrowed his eyebrows. He decided to just go over.

Nico stood nearby the table and Reyna looked at him. Jason glanced up and he saw how Nico and Reyna were looking at each other.
"New kid, right?" Reyna questioned.
Nico gulped and he nodded.
"Yeah, er... Nico di Angelo." Nico introduced himself.
"Reyna Ramirez-Arellano." Reyna smiled at Nico. "And this is Jason Grace."
Nico glanced at Jason, Jason flashed a friendly smile at Nico and Nico gave Jason a small smile back.

"Erm, so why'd you wave me over?" Nico asked, looking back at Reyna.
"I just want to let you know that you should be careful with how you act with Octavian." Reyna said. "Seriously, if you're ever alone, Octavian can get really... well..."

"Octavian can get real aggressive." Jason said, catching Nico's attention. Jason was still writing something in his notebook as he adjusted his glasses. "I mean, when Reyna rejected him? God, he would've really gone at her if Reyna wasn't so skilled at fighting."

Nico smiled and he let out a soft scoff.
"I can handle myself." Nico said, crossing his arms as he looked at Reyna. "I broke a kid's nose in my last school because he was being homophobic. And Octavian? I mean, he seems weak."
Reyna studied Nico and Jason cleared his throat. Nico looked at Jason and saw Jason was now looking at him.
"Never judge a book by its cover." Jason said, meeting Nico's gaze.
