Chapter 14

Nico glanced over at Will, who was sitting next to him and was fiddling with his pen in his hand and staring at the clock in the classroom. Nico gently nudged Will.

"Dude, this is a double." Nico said quietly. "We still got like an hour left until lunch."
Will looked at Nico and smiled.
"Yeah, but I have a doctor's appointment soon." Will said quietly. "Like, I gotta go in a few minutes."
Nico blinked and Will could see that Nico seemed a little worried about this.

Will gently kicked Nico's foot and smiled.
"I'll be back at the start of lunch, maybe halfway through. I'm not leaving you alone forever, Neeks." Will whispered, attempting to reassure Nico.
Nico frowned, "so you're just gonna leave me all alone with Alex and Magnus? I'm gonna have to deal with being a third-wheel?"
Will rolled his eyes.
"I had to third-wheel those two way longer than just 10-30 minutes. You can handle it, di Angelo." Will smiled.

Will instantly looked over as the classroom's phone began to ring and the teacher sighed as he got up and went over to the phone, picking it up. Nico looked at Will, seeing how he seemed a little desperate to go. The teacher got off the phone and looked directly at Will.
"Will, you gotta go to the office. Your mom is picking you up." The teacher said.
Will instantly grabbed his things and stuffed them into his bag.

Will looked at Nico, who was staring up at him. Will smiled at Nico as he got up and slung his bag over his shoulder.
"Catch me up on the work later on, okay?" Will said. "I'll see you soon."
Will reached his hand to Nico's hair and ruffled it. Nico whacked Will's hand away and hummed in response to what he said while fixing his hair.
"Yeah, yeah. Later, weirdo." Nico said.
Will grinned before he walked off, exiting the classroom.

Nico looked back down at his work and continued on with it. Okay, he hasn't been alone yet at school. Except from that time he went to the library, but that was only like five minutes.

Nico felt weird that he didn't have Will next to him, that Will wasn't gonna walk with him to the cafeteria through the crowded halls. Nico would have to sit with Alex and Magnus. Yes, they're his friends, and yeah, Nico can talk to them, but... Will is always there!

Nico sighed. He shouldn't be so dependent with Will around, but... having Will around made everything feel less hectic.

Nico tried to focus on his work. He'd be fine. He would be okay. He wouldn't be alone for a long time, and plus, Magnus and Alex would be there! They couldn't possibly just start being all lovey dovey and, if they did become all lovey dovey, Nico could handle it, right?

Nico felt something in his stomach though. He knew deep down that this wouldn't turn out well. That something bad was going to happen.
