Chapter 17

"I messed up."
Percy and Annabeth stared at Nico through the phone screen. Nico seemed down and Percy frowned.
"What do you mean you messed up?" Percy asked.
"Yeah, I'm sure you're just overreacting, Neeks." Annabeth said.

Nico fiddled with his ring with the one hand he had free. Annabeth and Percy both glanced at each other and Annabeth grabbed Percy's phone off of him, only showing herself.
"Nico, come on. You know you can talk with us." Annabeth said softly.
Nico stayed silent for another moment.

"I fought with an asshole at my school, I kinda got scratched up and a bloody nose, Will intervened and he brought me to the nurse's office and he cleaned me up. Then we had a moment, we nearly kissed, then some friends came in to check on me, one of them called me Will's boy, Will was gonna correct them but then I kinda held his hand to tell him to not correct them, then once they were all gone, I sorta kicked Will out because I wanted to go home because I can't really walk that well without it hurting and I didn't want to talk about what happened. "

Annabeth blinked and Percy's face also came into frame of the phone. Nico didn't like how they both looked at him like he was an idiot.
"I messed up?" Nico questioned.
"You messed up-" Percy began.
"No! No, there is a way to fix this!" Annabeth said, shooting Percy a glare before looking back at Nico.
Nico frowned at Annabeth.
"How?" Nico questioned.

"Alright, this is what you're gonna do-" Annabeth began.

"I mean, we had a moment!" Will exclaimed. "So, why did he just... push me away instead of talking about it?"
Will laid back against his bed, frowning as he looked at his phone. Will had facetimed Magnus for some help, and Magnus answered, but Alex was also there. Alex was cuddling next to Magnus, her head on his shoulder.

"Will, you and Nico are obviously into each other." Alex stated. "But at the same time, you two have known each other for... what? Nearly two weeks?"
"Yeah, maybe Nico just feels like you don't know each other too well and he just... he doesn't want to move so quickly with you." Magnus said.

"... Right, yet you two tease us all the time about being boyfriends? You don't think that's putting pressure on us to get together?" Will raised his eyebrows.
"Well, that's just us being your annoying friends who are waiting for you to get together!" Alex smiled.
"Yeah, exactly what Alex said." Magnus nodded.
Will sighed.

"I- okay. But, why would... I just..." Will trailed off. "Why would Nico just... not tell me that himself?"
"Maybe because he doesn't know how to open up?" Magnus suggested.
"Oh, yeah, you'd know a lot about that, wouldn't you?" Alex questioned, looking at Magnus.
"You cannot be one to talk either, when we first kissed, you didn't talk to me or even look at me the next few days afterwards!" Magnus exclaimed, looking at Alex.

"... Guys, argue about this after you help me out." Will said.
"Sorry, sorry Will." Magnus sighed as he looked back at Will.
"Look, I think you need to give Nico space. And by space, I mean, don't mention what happened. If he wants to talk about that moment, then he'll talk about it to you. Just act as you normally would with him." Alex said.
Will hummed and he sighed out."Yeah, okay."

"So? Is there anything else you need?" Alex asked.
"... I see how much you enjoy talking to me." Will said, looking at Alex.
"Sorry Will, you know how Alex is like." Magnus smiled apologetically at Will.
"I love talking with you, William, but I wanna spend time with my boyfriend sooo~" Alex shrugged slightly.
Will smiled. "Okay, fine, I'll let you have your time alone together. See you guys tomorrow."
"Bye!" Alex exclaimed.
Alex hung up on Will before Magnus could say bye to Will.

Will sighed as he stared at his phone screen. Will bit his inner cheek and he went onto his chat with Nico. Will was about to type something, especially since he saw that Nico was online, but Will's thumb stopped before he typed anything. Will shouldn't bother Nico, or even make Nico worried that Will would want to talk about what happened.

Will was about to set his phone aside before it vibrated and he looked down to see Nico messaged him.

Do you want to come over tomorrow to my place after school?

Neeks:
You can also stay the night, my dad won't mind, and I sorta wanna talk to you about something. Something that I wanna talk about in private, not at school

Will stared at the messages and he took a deep breath as he typed back a message to Nico.

Will:
Oh sure! My mom should be okay with it, I'll probs stay over the night too :)

Will:
How is everything anyway? Like with your stomach/your walking

Nico:
It's gotten better, I should be fine tomorrow, my dad gave me some stuff that should help

Nico:
You'll catch me up on the work I missed out in the afternoon, right?

Will:
Wanna call so I can explain everything to you the now and I'll send you pictures of my notes rn??

Nico:
Sure, Solace :)

Will:
Call you in a minute :D

Will smiled. He was glad that Nico wasn't pushing him away, that Nico wasn't acting weird now.

Though, Will was slightly nervous about going to Nico's place tomorrow and staying the night, especially since Will had a feeling that Nico was going to get deep with this conversation they were going to have in private.
