His Other Half | Solangelo Fanfiction

Chapter 26

A/N: when a character speaks in italics this chapter, they're supposed to be speaking in Italian. Just wanted to say that before you read on!

"You're sure you want me to come with?" Will asked as he and Nico were exiting the shop, they bought some flowers and some candles.
"Will, we have been together for a year, and I just... I dunno, I feel like it'll be nice for you to come with me." Nico said, looking at Will.

"But if you're not comfortable-"
"Nico, I wanna be there with you." Will cut Nico off. "I just wanna make sure you're sure about this."
"I am super sure about this. Plus, it means that you get to meet my mamma and Bianca! I'm sure they'd love to see you, especially since I've spoken about you all the other times I've visited them." Nico said. "Now c'mon, it's a good 20 minute walk from here to get there."

Nico and Will's relationship was going strong. No one bothered them, Octavian even stopped going up to them and simply glared at them from afar, but Alex and Will would always give Octavian a death glare and he'd turn away. Nico got closer with Jason and Reyna, becoming friends with them. Piper and Leo became friends with Will and Alex, and Magnus was happy to just be in the company of Alex and whoever was with Alex.

Nico and Will had been dating for a year now. They did a lot of things together, except from one thing. Every few months, Nico would visit his mother's and his sister's graves and he'd usually go alone or with his father. Today was different, Nico wanted Will to come along and Will decided to go. Will was a little anxious about it, he didn't know why but he was.

It took them a little while but they made it to the cemetery. Will followed Nico as Nico looked at the gravestones, searching for his mother and sister's names. Will bit his lower lip. He was holding the candles while Nico held the bouquet of flowers in his hands.

"Ah, they're over here." Nico said, making a turn and heading quickly towards the graves.
Will blinked and he quickly followed behind Nico. Nico stopped and he stood in front of two graves. Will stood next to Nico.

Nico crouched down and he set down the bouquet of flowers between his mother and Bianca's graves.
"Hey mamma, Bianca. I brought someone special with me today." Nico spoke softly, looking at the graves. "I don't know if you can see him, or us, but I brought my boyfriend here. This is Will, the guy I've talked to you guys about before."
Will blinked as he heard his name and he recognised some of the words out of Nico's mouth.

Nico picked up the grave candle holders from his mother and sister's grave, opening it up and taking out the empty candles from them. Nico looked at Will and Will crouched down next to Nico, giving him the candles in his hand. Nico placed them into the candle holders and he set the grave candles back on top of Bianca and Maria's graves. Nico dug out a lighter from his pocket and he lit the candles before shutting the candle holders.

Nico put the candle back and he let out a soft sigh and he sat down on the grass.
"I hope you two can hear me, and I hope that you two are happy wherever you are now. Because... I'm finally happy now, so is dad. He found someone new recently and... well, I'm slowly growing on her." Nico continued to speak.
Will awkwardly sat down next to Nico and he looked at Maria and Bianca's graves. He felt strange being here. But... Nico seemed to enjoy his company as Nico placed his hand over Will's.

"I wish you two could have met Will. That you were here right now though. But, I guess that's not how the universe wanted our lives to play out." Nico said, squeezing Will's hand slightly.
Will stayed silent and he looked to Nico. Nico seemed to gulp and he took a deep breath, smiling before he took his hand away from Will's and got up.
"I just wanted to visit you two for a few minutes. I wanted Will to be here too, maybe you two can see him and see how happy I am with him. I don't want to keep him here too long."

Will blinked as he got up from the ground and placed his hand on Nico's shoulder.
"Hey, is that... are we already leaving?" Will asked, looking at Nico.
Nico smiled at Will softly.
"Yeah, I just wanted to light a fresh candle for them and say a few things." Nico said. "C'mon, there's a café nearby, let's grab a bite."
Nico began to walk off.

Will was about to follow Nico but he hesitated, facing Maria and Bianca's graves. Will looked down at the graves and he bit his lower lip.
"... I feel slightly stupid for speaking outloud, but... I just want you guys to know that I'm taking care of Nico and he's taking care of me too." Will said, fiddling with his hands. "Erm... I really love him, seriously, the boy you two had to raise, even if it was only for a short while, turned out... great, you should be proud of him."

Will bit his lower lip and he slightly smiled, looking down at the graves.
"I promise I'll take care of him for as long as we're together." Will managed to say in Italian.
Will looked at the candles and saw how they were burning, it felt like they were burning brighter than before. Will felt a strange warm feeling inside of him and he let out a soft sigh before turning around and heading over to where Nico was stood, waiting for him to come over.

"... What did you say?" Nico questioned as Will went up to him.
Will held Nico's hand and they both began to walk alongside each other.
"Oh, nothing really. Just wanted to leave with a good impression." Will smiled at Nico.
Nico felt himself smile and he quickly leaned in, kissing Will's cheek.
"You're honestly the best boyfriend ever." Nico said softly.
Will's smile grew and he squeezed Nico's hand. "Alright, alright, don't make my ego bigger now, love."

Nico and Will walked hand-in-hand. Will felt peaceful, he felt like he did the right thing saying what he said at the graves. Nico felt more at peace too, he was glad that he found Will.

Nico was glad that he found his other half.

A/N: and that is the end of 'His Other Half'! This ending may seem a little quick and sudden, but I didn't have many ideas of what else I could do for chapters and I'm happy to end it here.
