Chapter 24

Tonight was the night. This night, Will was going to ask Nico to become his boyfriend.

They have been on a good couple of dates for the last month, and Will felt as though he and Nico have been getting closer. They got to know one another, and Nico seemed to be getting comfortable being more touchy with Will, like he wouldn't tense up if Will hugged him or anything like that. The kisses on each other's faces became more consistent too, and so Will felt as though they were ready to make things official and have their first kiss together.

So, Will was setting things up outside in the garden of his house. The sun was beginning to set, Will had snacks and a blanket on the ground. Will intended for him and Nico to eat and talk out here, watching the sun set and to gaze up at the stars once it was dark enough for them to appear.

"Huh, this is cosy."
Will looked over his shoulder and he saw Nico making his way out of the house and towards Will.
"Oh, hey! I told you to message me when you got here." Will said, turning around and facing Nico.
"I did message you, and I waited like over five minutes, and then I knocked on the door and your mom greeted me." Nico smiled at Will. "I put my stuff up in your room."
Will hummed, nodding.

"Right, well... Sorry I didn't get your message. I must've put my phone on silent." Will grimaced slightly. "Look, I still need to get some stuff, AKA some drinks, why don't you get changed into your pyjamas and I'll get another blanket just in case we get cold out here. Okay?"
Will gently rubbed Nico's shoulder and leaned in, kissing Nico's cheek. Nico's face scrunched up a little and he smiled at Will.
"Alright, alright." Nico said.

Nico turned around and he went ahead, entering the house. Will followed behind to get the few extra things he needed to bring outside. Will was already in his pyjamas, so he had nothing to really worry about.

Nico was in a pair of sweatpants and a baggy t-shirt, making his way out and seeing Will was already sat on the blanket on the ground. Nico made his way over and he sat down next to Will.
"This is quite a chill date." Nico said, bringing his knees up to his chest.
Will looked at Nico and he shuffled closer to Nico, wrapping his arm around Nico's shoulder. Nico rested his head on Will's shoulder.

"Well, we've been doing a lot of other stuff for our previous dates, decided this would be a nice break, just relaxing outside and looking up at the sky, watch the sun set and maybe stargaze?" Will said, glancing down at Nico.
Nico smiled as he lifted his head and looked at Will.
"Mmh, yeah. You made a good choice." Nico said before looking at the sky and watching as the sun was nearly gone now.
Will kept his gaze on Nico for a few moments before looking up at the sky too.

"Let me know if you get hungry, or cold, or want a drink, or-"
"Alright Solace, I'll let you know if I need or want anything, don't worry."

A while had passed and the sun had fully set. Nico and Will engaged in a bit of conversation, but mostly stared at the sun setting while eating a little and having something to drink.

Now, it was dark, the moon was out and there was a lot of stars in the sky. Nico and Will were laying back on the blanket. Nico was cuddled up next to Will and Will had his arm around Nico, his hand on Nico's shoulder, gently rubbing it as they stared up at the stars in the darkness above.

"I'd like to think Bianca is up there." Nico said quietly, staring at one of the stars which seemed to sparkle more than the rest.
"Mmh? Because she liked the stars?" Will questioned, glancing at Nico.
"Well, duh." Nico raised his eyebrows at Will.
Will smiled at Nico and Nico smiled back before looking at the sky again.
