The next fight had a clear winner. Reiko... well, actually Emily, handily beat her opponent, making her the final obstacle for Izuku to overcome. It would be difficult. And, while nobody knew the true stakes of the fight, they did. The soul of Reiko was at risk. If he wins, Emily will back off... but if she wins... Reiko will be alone once more. That would hurt them both, and she knew that.

Stepping onto the arena, Izuku scanned it. The ground was solid, flat, without fault. Well, no other fault than that found in standard concrete. Emily might have a difficult time with this. She was able to beat Tokoyami, but that was because her power worked on Dark Shadow. Now? She would have to fight him directly. It was well known in class that her power doesn't work well against humans. She has only ever been able to grab objects, and quirks, and anything in between. It was a weakness she was working on, to be sure... but not one she could overcome right now. Strictly speaking, he had the advantage... but it would be tough.

Not that the audience cared. They seemed to want her to win. Ever since his quirklessness was revealed, they seemed to have a stick in the mud surrounding him. Granted, Izuku used brutal, unorthodox tactics, but that was how he had to fight and win.

Looking over, he was surprised to see that it was Reiko in charge, for now. Although, she seemed dead inside... with a faint dot of hope. Potentially. The greenette hoped he wasn't imagining that. Present Mic introduced them once more:

"This is it, folks, a duel between two members of Class A! On one side, we have the intrepid warrior, the man with a plan, Izuku Midoriya!" Some cheers, some boos... before the announcer stated, "And on the other, we have the spooky telekinetic beast that is... Reiko Yanagi!" Substantially more cheers to that, before Present Mic stated one last part: "This is the grand finale everyone has been looking forward to... so I turn it to Midnight!"

The woman in question looked between the two of them, and frowned slightly. She knew a relationship when she saw one, and had been... keeping tabs, as it were. Today had been a whole mess. Ever since the Dominion match... However, she couldn't just ignore her duties. "Alright you two, try to keep it PG, alright?" Smirking, she noted Izuku's annoyance at the implication. Apparently what's going on is a lot more serious than she realized. Still keeping a smile, Midnight cracked her whip, "BEGIN!"

Izuku began by walking slowly over. So far, Reiko was still in the driver's seat. He didn't want her to leave just yet.

When in hearing range, the verdant boy herald her speak: "Don't let her win..."

"I won't." He could see that she was barely holding on, and that her eyes were changing, starting to glow. Her expression changed in a flash, as her quirk activated, shoving him back a fair distance. Concrete dust lifted, hanging in the air, making it hard to see.

Emily laughed, her features having shifted from despair to delight in a second, languishing in the raw emotions of them both. "Well, well, Midoriya... it's time to settle this farce, right? Reiko is mine, and you'll never take her from me!"

Jiro and Momo watched with their class... and noticed that something was immediately wrong. Izuku and Reiko were... tense. She looked even more dead inside... no, actually defeated. Straining her ears, she listened as the whole arena watched silent, waiting to see how the two would fight.

Then she heard it. The words out of the spooky girl's mouth. She... is controlled? Manipulated? How... wait... poltergeist... her quirk is sentient?!

Momo seemed to appreciate it as well. Looking to her violet-haired friend, Jiro's expression of shock... there was something that was going on, far below the surface.
