Exiting the principal's office, the two students walked quietly through the somber halls. Momo seemed quite pleased with the outcome, while Izuku was definitely far more concerned. Before he could open his mouth, the raven haired girl stated, "Don't worry, Izuku. We have achieved a victory today. He cannot just wave this away."
"I know, but I am still concerned for your wellbeing."

That caused her to stop, and glance at him. Warmth lay in her robotic gaze as she smiled just as kindly. "I know. Your empathy is remarkable. And appreciated. But have no fear, I know what I am doing."
As continued to walk on, away from Izuku, who only watched her leave, all he could think at that moment was: No, I don't think you do know what you're doing to yourself...

Still, the remaining week had little happen. Heroics was mostly about legal procedure and finalizing any details, but on Friday, they had to put through their internship choice. Many chose either those they liked or the top heroes of their options... but Izuku was just looking at the paper in question. Sure, it was good that he got one hero after his quirkless status was revealed, but the hero in question... was one that had definitely soured in his time. Erika taught him to look at people as objectively as possible. A lot of flaws could be seen within the hero industry. Flashy quirks given priority, the usual things. However, one thing that was nearly unforgivable to him was the drive to fight. Many villains just needed someone to help them, but these people. These people who called themselves heroes... all they wanted was to beat up people. To be enforcers, not protectors. In their hubris, they had been guided... partly by society, by marketers who can only sell a fight... and partly by the governing body. The HPSC. They covered up a lot it seems... from Endeavour's faults, to a lot of hero's shady deals.

And that brought him back to the hero that gave their offer. While most would be in awe of this person, he wasn't. They were everything wrong with modern heroics, in one bundle.

Interrupting his thoughts, Reiko peeked over his shoulder, "Izuku... is something on your mind?"

"Yeah..." He started, "The one person who sent me something is someone I don't like. Primarily because they remind me of..."

"Bakugo." She looked at the name with a new light. "No need to explain further... after all, there are 40 other heroes on UA's list. Why not choose them?"

"I'm not sure..."

Now Ochako was curious. "Which hero was it, Izuku?"

Instead of telling her, he just handed her the application. Eyes wide, the brunette's hands started to tremble, a mix of fear, trepidation, and excitement. Looking back at Izuku, her energy wasn't dampened in the slightest by his own mood. Still... that got the attention of the rest of the class. As they approached, looking at the paper he was dismissing... everyone was shocked. "You got an internship from Miruko?!"

Silence permeated the class as they looked at the verdant haired boy. He seemed disinterested in it, which was even more shocking. Ochako looked at him, "You... you're going to turn it down?"
"Why would I want to work with someone like that?" He replied back, sardonically. This was way different than his other previous bad moods. With Bakugo, he was direct. With Aizawa, he was direct. With Nezu, even, he was direct. With this, however? He was less so. He'd stated his reasoning to Reiko, who didn't seem to view his opinion as evasive, but the rest didn't quite understand.

"But she's the number 5 hero!"

"Her rank is all she has going for her." He stated simply, as he listed off every negative he saw, at least as a possible mentor. "She has Bakugo's disposition, she fights with her legs, primarily, is a lone wolf, and prefers to look for a fight than anything else. She's everything wrong with modern heroics wrapped up into one package." To the class, those were enough reasons, but to Ochako, Momo and Reiko, there was something else that was bugging him. But... it wasn't their place to pry. At least not now.
