Chapter 35: Saving Usagi

"What!? You two were defeated!?" Shinnok asked in anger.

"We have failed you, My Lord," Quan Chi said, bowing down at the waist.

"You fools haven't done the job to get rid of these fools to destroy the Golden Crystal," Shinnok protested.

"We did what you have told us, Shinnok. We tried everything to stop them." Shang Tsung argued.

"Yet it's obvious you two had failed me." Then he turned to face the window of the Netherrealm castle with hands folded behind his back. "If I can't have the Golden Crystal then no one can have it. Neither was Raiden and his minions."

"Lord Shinnok!"

"What!?" He growled at the Netherrealm guard.

"Raiden and his fellow warriors arrived! They also brought a monk called Kai. They are coming into the castle to stop us." The Netherrealm guard said.

It was then Shinnok came up with an idea when he eyed Shang Tsung.

"Shang Tsung," Shinnok began.

"Yes, Lord Shinnok?"

"I have something for you," Shinnok said.

When Shang Tsung was about to say anything, Shinnok granted him some of his powers. As Shang Tsung succumbed to the power, he unleashed a burst of energy.

"Make haste, Shang Tsung, but I will need nothing left of you," Shinnok warned. After that, he turned to face Quan Chi.

"Be ready for Prince Endymion's wedding. Their time has come." Shinnok suggested.

Quan Chi bowed down at the waist. "Yes, Lord Shinnok."

Before the dark wedding starts, Dark Endymion wears the groom's outfit, looking something like Beetlejuice, as he looks handsome smoothly. Then Quan Chi appeared to check on him.

"Is everything ready, My Prince?" Quan Chi asked.

He let out an evil smirk. "Ready as ever."

"To warn you, My Prince, they are coming, but we better hurry quick, or else they'll interfere with us," Quan Chi warned.

"Make sure they don't enter the castle."

"I shall send my dear friend Shang Tsung to get them one last time. The princess is at the aisle expecting you," Quan Chi said.

He nodded. "Good. Now let's get married."

At the same time...

"We hope we're not too late," Sailor Venus said as they made for the castle to rescue Usagi while Raiden and the others fought the Netherrealm army. Together, Liu Kang, Jake-Long, and Sae-Byeok fend off Kintaro, while Kung Lao and Sailor Venus defeat the vengeful Goro. They learned from Goro that Usagi was about to get married, causing the future timeline to be destroyed.

When they arrived in no time while Raiden and the Earthrealm made it in time, they found Usagi wearing the red wedding dress standing in the aisle beside Dark Endymion.

"Usagi!" Liu Kang called out to her.

She didn't hear him. She was just listening to the preacher.

He figured something wasn't right. "Usagi?"

"She can't hear you. She is under Prince Endymion's spell." Just then Shang Tsung appeared with his new dark power.

"What!?" Everyone said the same,

"With Quan Chi's help, he can control Lady Serenity in whatever he desires," Shang Tsung said.

"By using her as a toy!?" Liu Kang asked, angry at hearing this.

He shook his head. "No, but love."

"How can we remove the curse from Dark Endymion's undoing?" Sailor Mars asked, glaring.

"I'll tell you if you'll have to fight me first, but I challenge Liu Kang one last time," Shang Tsung said as he unleashed his new power instead of Mistress Nine's power.

Liu Kang put up in a fighting position as he faced his rival. "This will be the last time you'll ever face me."

"Very well." Then the two started to fight while the gang had to go stop the wedding, but they were blocked by the barrier that Quan Chi had summoned.

Using his new power, Shang Tsung easily beat up Liu Kang before he could finish him. Just when he was about to kill him, Liu Kang eventually used the Golden Crystal to blind his eyes before he could easily finish him off. With his powerful kicks, he knocked Shang Tsung out until he defeated the evil sorcerer. This time, he spared his life again.

After that, Liu Kang faced Raiden, panting.

The Thunder God nodded. "Well done, Liu Kang."

"Now how can we lift Usagi's curse?" Liu Kang demanded, glaring at him.

"The amulet necklace. You must destroy it with the Golden Crystal. It is the only way to save her." Shang Tsung said.

"The amulet necklace?" Kung Lao asked as he stepped in.

"Where Dark Endymion wears it around his neck," Shang Tsung said, pointing at where it was.

He let out a grin. "Thank you, Shang Tsung."

Then Liu Kang summoned his power with the Golden Crystal as he quickly shattered the barrier and destroyed the amulet necklace.

Dark Endymion and Shinnok were in shock to see Liu Kang's power. "No! It can't be!"

Eventually, when Liu Kang used the Golden Crystal to destroy everything, he ended up healing Usagi to get her state back.

After that, Usagi collapsed in Liu Kang's arms.

"Usagi! Are you okay!?" He cried out.

She groaned in response as she opened her eyes and saw his face. "Liu Kang...? Wh-What happened...?"

"Usagi, thank the Elder Gods you're back!" Then the two kissed as their crystals started to glow, causing Dark Endymion to boil in anger.

"I missed you!" He cried out.

"I missed you, too, Liu," Usagi said as she placed her hand on his cheek softly, smiling at him.
