Chapter 39: The Jinsei Chamber

Everyone flew to the Sky Temple, but corruption from the Jinsei forced them to land. While walking to the Temple, they were ambushed by Kotal Kahn and his forces.

Jax and Sailor Jupiter helped Jacqui and Takeda to fend off the Outworld warriors. Jacqui then tried to reason with Kotal, but he was deaf to reason.

As everyone found themselves surrounded by more Outworld soldiers, the Lin Kuei suddenly appeared to fend them off, giving everyone a chance to escape and make a break for the Temple.

Sailor Moon and the gang found Quan Chi, Scorpion, and the revenants of Shinnok's warriors on how to find a way to the heavens and attack the Elder Gods, but Cassie and Sailor Eclipse attacked them and thwarted their plans.

As Jacqui and Takeda distract them, Sailor Moon, Liu Kang, Johnny, Cassie, Sailor Eclipse, and Kung Jin make their way to the Jinsei Chamber, where they find Raiden imprisoned while Shinnok continues to poison the Jinsei and the Golden Crystal.

"Father!" Sailor Moon called out to him as she ran up to him and tried her best to release him from the skeleton's hands.

"Serenity..." Raiden groaned.

"Don't worry, Raiden. We're here for you." Liu Kang said as he joined in to help Sailor Moon.

Just then corrupted Shinnok stepped out of the Jinsei and noticed them. "You don't know when to quit, do you?"

"Never!" Sailor Moon growled. Then the warriors began to fight against Shinnok. Unfortunately, he was too powerful to beat them.

Shinnok grabbed Johnny in the throat, planning to kill him.

"Dad! Let him go, you son of a bitch!" Cassie's hidden power finally manifested itself: her body became enveloped in a green aura just like Johnny's.

"Cass, your power!" Sailor Eclipse exclaimed.

"Holy shit! It does run to the family!" Cassie said in shock.

"Ha! She got it from me! That's my future kid!" Johnny exclaimed happily. With this new power, Cassie was able to defeat the fallen Elder God. With Sailor Moon and Eclipse's help, they managed to use the Moon and Eclipse Gorgeous Meditation to defeat Shinnok.

"Moon Gorgeous Meditation!"

"Eclipse Gorgeous Meditation!"

Eventually, Shinnok was defeated and almost killed.

Liu Kang and Kung Jin then helped Raiden reach the Jinsei, where he was able to cleanse Earthrealm's energy from Shinnok's corruption. The Earthrealm warriors and the Sailor Guardians arrived to help them after defeating Quan Chi. Although the crisis has been averted, purifying the Jinsei has changed Raiden.
