Chapter 9 A scarless prince

Third person (pov)
The coronation day began with the sages first chanting out prayers to the deceased souls of Azulon and Lu ten. All the nobles from all over the fire nation attended the coronation of Firelord ozai. All of them hopeful that the tragedy that befell Azulon and Lu ten shall never happen again. But with exception shoto the crown prince and heir to the throne couldn't wish more then the absolute death of his father Ozai. And letting all the tragedies of the world befall him.

He madesure to wear his funeral robes even then just to makesure they know that this day wasnot a happy one. But most of the nobility assumed that he was still grieving over the loss of Lu ten. Which was partly true, he was grieving at the loss of his brother and at the loss of the women that took him as her own. Even now the pain was still seeded in his heart was beginning to fester. As he looked distain fully on ozai.

He then gave a speech in which he sang lies ontop of lies about how he was sorry for the loss of his nephew and the sudden departure of his Father from the worldly plane. And how his nephew would bless him and his rule. The metal cup broke apart into pieces in his palm but nobody cared to notice. As the speech finally concluded, he gave one of the servants by placing it rather harshly on the tray.

He needed to some room to breathe away from these whole ceremony. He needed to get out of these place period. He looked over and saw Azula making conversation with two of her friends. Azula had a look of distance but kept well hidden. At least she aas handling these better than him. His eyes darted to Zuko who looked to have a look of shell shock wearing down his features. He watched his brother just standing there looking out into the distance.

He couldn't bring himself to correct his behaviour. Alot has happened, things that his child mind is still processing. He looked in pity, no child and no one in general should experience what he has. He walked over to Azula.

Azula (pov)
Azula listened to mai's rant about how boring this whole event. Honestly she would've have paid zero attention to her.  But that would mean unpacking all thta happened last night. She couldn't afford to allow herself the ability to scream. Not when she is infront of so many nobleman. Not when her father is looking at her. She was lucky when Ty lee told them in excited tone said her brother was coming.

She silently thanked agni, because she didn't exactly think mai's rant was going to keep her thoughts from spiraling down anymore. She turned and watched as her older brother approached her. A side glance and she found Ty lee looking him up and down like she seen agni himself. Her mouth was slightly ajar. She couldn't help but gave a sigh. She thought she could get used to the stares that her brother got. Which she did to an extent, but it was much eaiser when they all were just faceless nobleman. Ty lee was different seeing as though she was her friend. And she dealt with this exact situation time and time again. Where she couldn't stop fantasising about her brother. It borderline got insufferable at times. She had dealt with this situation before.

But even then, just because she was one of her friends, that doesn't mean she liked it. When her eyes went dazed and she looked like she had been left in the desert. Whenever he was there. Mai seemed to share her sentiment and quickly bashed her. Which caused her to regain consciousness. "It's nice to see your enjoying the party with your friends Lala." He spoke plainly. "Well sho-sho parties are set to be enjoyed with your close friends aren't they." She said with hints of sarcasm in her voice. She indirectly told him to just spill out what he wanted.

"Yes but I would think our dear brother zuko would love some company." He said to her, with a hint of despairation in his voice. Immediately her expression changed as she turned and looked at zuko. 'Agni she forgot about zuzu, her brother was always the emotional one. Who could barely keep his emotions together. And now he looked like he was a moment away from having a breakdown.'
