chapter 22 The strong shall forever carry burdens

Third-person(pov)
The view cuts to Zuko and Azula in the living room. "Zuzu you need to stop moping around. There gone, we won't see them anymore." Azula said as she continued to read her scrolls. Zuko looked at his sister and gave a sigh, "I know that lala, it's been 1 week and 4 days, but I miss them already." He said as he continued to peer out through ths window. "I just think, If I look long enough I'll see them again. I know that's impossible but a man can hope you know." He added.

Azula made no comments, but gave her brother a look of sympathy and understandment. "It'll take a real miracle for that to happen." He said to himself. Just in that moment, the window broke as zuko jumped in reflexive reaction. As a firey sphere entered the living room. Azula and zuko watched as a firey object circled around the room until it went into the kitchen.

Immediately Azula and zuko both sprinted towards the kitchen. When they entered they found a birds had long tail feathers with a sharp beak and talons, that all glowed in stunning orange intensity sitting on top of Shoto's arm. "Calm down both of you, it came here bringing a message." Shoto told them calmly. Azula relaxed slowly as did zuko. "Must be some big event if sun warriors are sending Tuli here." Zuko said casually. As he raised his arm out for the bird to sit on.

"What do those fire shootings neanderthal want from us this time ?" Azula said voice filled annoyance. "The message says that they require our pressence immediately. It says that an important fire spirit wants an audience with me." Shoto summarised the letter. "Look while I am ecstatic as anyone visiting the birth place of firebending. I am bit skeptical on this one, how are we sure that this isn't some petty spirit looking for revenge or something ?" Zuko said as he feed the phoenix some piece of meat that was on the kitchen counter.

"I will admit, that thought did cross my mind. But the sunwarriors would have resolve that all by themselves." Shoto pointed out. "Couple with the fact that they try to limit contact with the outside world. And the fact that they send a phoenix no less is concerning. Something big is about to happen." Azula deduced quickly.

"Whatever the cause, it seems we will be visting sun warriors soon enough." Shoto told them. "Also zuko gave Tuli a message. Write that we will there by the afternoon. Also get yourself ready for the trip both of you." He quickly added. Shoto left to get pepared, leaving Azula and zuko both to get themselves ready.

Timeskip 2 hours later
Azula and zuko boarded their ship as shoto brought the sails up. With the winds pushing their sails, they began surfing through the ocean. "How long until we get there ?" Azula asked him. "By my maths at least 6 or so hours. But we don't that amount patience. So I am gonna waterbend the ship until we get there. Which will roughly cut our time by 5 hours 20 minutes." Shoto explained.

"So 40 minutes give or take." Zuko told. Shoto gave a nodd at his brother. "Can you speed it up faster, I really don't like to surrounded by the sea any more." Azula said as wave of water splashed  her right in the face. She grumbled in annoyance as she heated the water off her body.

Zuko gave a soft smirk at his sisters misfortune. As time past they soon hit land after enduring much harsh and turbulent waves. They set anchor on the beach. Soon they were greeted by the sun warrior chief. "Crown prince shoto, it's good to see your real hair once more." Ham Ghao complimented him. "You can thank for washing away the black dye." He responded sarcastically.
"Anyways while I do enjoy your compliment ? I know for a fact that this isn't a social call. So why have I been summoned ?" Shoto asked bluntly.

"Direct as always, fine I'll be blunt aswell. You recall how a spirit wanted audience with you." Chief told him. "Yes I recall. Which spirit wants to talk with me ?" Shoto asked him. "The painted lady wishes to talk to you regarding the pollution done to her river. She wants your help in fixing it." The chief told him. Shoto and Azula share a glance of acknowledgement. Before shoto confirm that he's willing to meet the spirit.
