Kim Yewon is an only child and doesn't believe in fate.

She thinks that the red string is fake, as her parents were " soulmates" but got divorced when she was nine years old.

Now, she's eighteen years old and has only dated a boy in her life.

She only has eyes for her favourite singer: Myung Jaehyun.

Kim Yewon's pov:

—Mom! —. I call her —. Where do I put the basket?
—Leave it in front of the washer machine, sweetie! —. My mother shouts from the kitchen.

I sigh and drag the basket full of clothes to where mom has told me just now.

When I finished my task, I dried my sweat from my forehead.

I'm so tired.

I have been helping mom with the housework since 7:00 a.m, and now it's 11:30.

How can mothers do all the housework in one day?

I really, really respect mothers.

I went to the kitchen where mom is.

—Did you put the basket where I told you? —. She asks as soon as I step into the kitchen.

How did she see me if she's backwards?

—Yes —. I reply —. What do I do now?
—You can rest now. You have been helping me for four hours without resting —. Mom says.

Yay!

—Ok, thanks mom —.  I eat a piece of the cake she has baked and leave before she could scold me.
—KIM YEWON! —. Mom shouts.

I giggle and rush to the living room.

I turn the TV on and watch the news.

—The famous singer Myung Jaehyun has finally arrived in Korea after a six hours flight —. The journalist says.

Wait... Myung Jaehyun? The same Myung Jaehyun that went to record a show with Kang Soo-mi in Dubai? My favourite singer?

—Yewon...
—Shhh —. I silence my mom, who is coming downstairs.
—Wha...ah. That singer again? —. She asks.
—Yes.
—He's handsome.
—Of course he is. Mom, HE HAS ARRIVED TO KOREA AFTER A SIX HOURS FLIGHT, WOOO!!! —. I shout.
Mom covers her ears and says —. Don't shout. And stop seeing news about him. It's not as if he'll be your soulmate.
I glare at my mother —. He's also eighteen, his birthday is in December, and mine is in January. We could be soulmates.
—Yeah... keep dreaming. If you keep being obsessed with that young singer, you won't ever find your soulmate.
I rolled my eyes —. People don't have to be fated just to date.
Mom now glared at me —. Stop talking nonsense. Everyone is fated with someone, and we all have to follow our fate with that person.
I scoff —. Yeah... you were dad's soulmate, and you're not together.

Her eyes softened, and she sat next to me.

—That's because fate made a mistake. That doesn't mean that you have to hate it.
—What if fate makes a mistake again? —. I ask —. What if it fates me with the wrong person?
—It won't. Because I've prayed since before you were born. I pray to fate to give you the correct person, so it won't happen to you.

She and her prayings.

—Come on, turn it off —. She says.
—No! —. I grab the TV controller.
—Fine! Keep dreaming if you want —. Mom stands up and leaves.

I focus back on the news.

—Yeah, our partner is there with him now —. The journalist says.

Jaehyun appears on the screen with another journalist.

He's wearing a sweater and black baggy jeans, he's wearing a cap too.

The place must be Incheon Airport, judging by the fans and sasaengs.

God. He looks so damn handsome.

—Can you tell us about your next event? —. The journalist asks.
He laughs and jokes —. Um... I don't know. If I do, I'd be spoiling my fans.
—Please!
—AHHH! MYUNG JAEHYUNG!
—Jaehyung ssi... please —. The journalist pleads.
—Mm... Ok! —.He smiles —. I'll record a show here in Korea, and a fan will be chosen to participate with me.
—Really?! —. I shout.

I need to be chosen.

I have to be that lucky fan.
