43 |Surprise

Yewon was bored. She was playing a kid's game on her mobile.

Jaehyun told her last week that he'd not be able to hang out with her as much as they used to because he was busy.

And, even though they saw each other to bond or on the halls, it wasn't enough. Every time they talked was a normal conversation, as if they talked a lot—thing that didn't happen—and every time she asked him about what had him so busy, he shrugged it off and avoided her question.

But don't think that Jaehyun excused himself to not hang out with his soulmate. The truth is that he had started to produce —and write — a song for Yewon, but as it was a surprise, she couldn't know.

Every afternoon and every day—on weekends—the boy's friends went to his house and they helped the boy with his song.

And they decided to decorate the beach — where Jaehyun would surprise her — with some led colored lights and they'd also create a stone path on the sand.

The small concert was going to be held on Saturday —Today — at dawn, just when the sky turns a mix of purple, pink and yellow-orange.

Very romantic, isn't it?

However, the worst that could happen would be if Jaehyun sang a bit later —as he was supposed to do it just when the sky changed.

Yewon's pov:

—I don't trust you — i say to my soulmate.

Jaehyun has called me this morning to hang out at 18:19 p.m and, even though i found it weird, i accepted.

When he went to my house to pick me up, he didn't tell me where we were going.

"Just trust me, i won't take you to a cave or something." He said.

When he parcked the car, he turned to look at me and told me to close my eyes. My delusional side did it as i though he'd kiss me or something —as in movies —, but no. He covered my eyes with a cloth and helped me exit the car.

And i'm now being guided by my boyfriend and i'm afraid of falling, because sometimes, i don't trust him.

—I'm not letting you fall — He says.
I tighten my grip on his hands that are on the cloth —. Yeah, sure~ yor capable of making me trip or just letting me fall.
He let out a chuckle —. Me? When did i do any of that?
I sigh —. Good point. However, you didn't even tell me where the hell are we.
—And i'm not planning to do so.
—But i'm curious!
—Sometimes, you don't have to know certain things.
—What does have to do with our date or whatever this is.
—Darling, we're almost there, be patient.

I whine and we continue to walk, i trip with something and Jaehyun graps my arm, preventing me to fall. He didn't say anything but i'm sure he smiled triumphaly as he was right.

Some minutes —that felt like hours—  later, we stop abruptly.

—Ready? — He asks.
—For what? Dude, come on! — I say, — i'm ready, just quit the freaking cloth off my eyes so that i can finally see!
—mm... i've decided to let you like this for two more minutes.
—That's it. I'll kill you.

Laughing, he quit the cloth off my eyes and wrapped his arms on my shoulders, hugging me backward. I blink a few times to adjust to the light and when i can finally see the mysterious place, i stand there perplexed.

We're in a beach far from our city, the sky is coloured with the typical colours of dawn.

I step forward and turn around to look at Jaehyun.

—Wha...
—Surprise! — He smiles.

I furrow my eyebrows and open my mouth to say something, but i'm too surprised too formulate a choerent word. Jaehyun doesn't lose a second as he grabs my wrist and take me somewhere in the beach.
