8| Love is a risk

Yewon was screaming at the top of her lungs.

She had received the e-mail that Zico sent her, saying that she was now Jaehyun's partner at his request.

The e-mail also informed her about their theme, and let me tell you she wasn't as happy as she would have been weeks ago. 

She didn't want to be his partner since she left Zico's office and upon realizing his birthday, because if she was his partner, that'll mean that she's his soulmate.

And remember that she's stubborn and her hate towards fate and mostly soulmates.

She hated fate for making her mother suffer by fating her with a man who didn't care about her.
Because of it, her parents got divorced as her father disappeared for a full month, and suddenly came back with another family.

Because of fate, her parents' string hurt her mother because her soulmate didn't want her and didn't care about her.

Because soulmates suffer if they don't want each other, or if they don't love and care about the other.

Something similar to her, no?

Yewon doesn't want a soulmate and hates fate, but she's not aware that she could hurt her favourite singer in the way.

She's too blind by her stubbornness that she can't see that.

And now, she has to be Jaehyun's partner.

But that's what she wanted, right? She argued with Zico because she wasn't paired with him.

And now that she is his partner, she doesn't want to be.

As she thought, if Zico changed her pair, making her go with the singer, that'll mean that she's his soulmate.

But she didn't think that it would happen. Now that it has, she regrets arguing with the CEO of KOZ.

Yewon's pov:

Mom opened my room's door and rushed to me with a pan in her hand.

– What's wrong? Why are you screaming and... crying? –. Mom asks me.
– Mom –. I sob.

She leaves the pan on my desk and sits next to me.

– Sweetie... what's wrong?
I take a big breath and say –. I wasn't going to be Jaehyun's partner but Felix, and now, I'm going with Jaehyun ssi.
She looks at me perplexed –. Ok? You didn't tell me that. Explain everything, the details too.

I explained her everything.

When I was done, she looked at me, shocked.

– So... Jaehyun was going to participate with his soulmate as his birthday was the day of choosing a role. If someone of the cast was his soulmate, the person would change partners. And suddenly, you've gotten an e-mail saying that your partner has changed and now you're going with your favourite singer. That you wanted, but now no, after realizing that the change means that you're his soulmate, and you don't want a soulmate –. She sighs –. You were Cupid, but you're a citizen along him, and your theme is a couple. Am I right?

How did she get it so easily?

I nod, and she sighs again.

– You don't have to cry because of that –. She says –. Maybe he just wanted to go with you 'cause you seem kind and funny. Maybe you're not his soulmate after all, though it would be sad as I want a famous son-in-law. But...
– What if he's so clingy? What if he's too cute that I can't handle him? –. I ask –. I don't want to fall for him no matter if I'm his soulmate or not.
– Look –. She says –. Being afraid of loving is so stupid. If you love, you love. Because loving is a very beautiful feeling and you can't be afraid of it, because you'd be missing this feeling. Sure, you can be afraid of a broken heart, but love means risking everything you have for that person.

It's kinda true that I'm afraid of giving everything to someone and then end up as when my ex broke up with me.

– I know, but...
– You have to move on, Yewon-a. I know that jerk broke you so badly, but you have to move on. I know you're still hurt by his lies. But give an opportunity to that Jaehyun guy, even if he's not your soulmate –. She interrupts me –. Because I'm sure he is a good boy as far as what I've seen.
– Ok. What if we're soulmates and everyone knows it? His fans and sasaengs will want to kill me for sure, and you'd be in danger as well –. I say.
She shrugged –. As I have said. Love means risking everything. That's a dangerous risk, but it's worthy–. She stands up and leaves.

I don't know what to say.

I won't listen to mom, though she's right.

Because I don't want or need a soulmate.
If when I get my stupid string, it leads me to him, I'll tell him the same :" I don't want a soulmate, and I don't need you."

Because I'll get hurt at the end or worse. I'll hurt him.

So the best thing i can do is pushing him away.

I won't fall for him. Even though I have already fallen.
I won't let my feelings control me.

And mostly, I won't let him in.

I'll follow our theme in the show, but anything else.

I'll just talk to him if I have to and in the show.

That's what I'll do.

Because i can't get hurt again.
