As I am sat by my desk within my room I receive a call, as I look down the last name I expect to appear on the screen is my Mom. I answer promptly.
"Mom is everything okay?" I utter as I place the phone up to my ear.
"Yeah everything's fine it's just Luke got in a fight I'm going to have to go down to school with your Father are you able to hold down the fort while I'm gone." She asks as she gathers her belongings on the other end of the line.
"Of course. Is Luke okay?" I shut down my laptop screen and rest my elbows on the table.
"Yeah he's fine but they need us to go down there and talk to him." My mom replies.
"Okay well let me know how it goes." Nodding my head I answer while playing with my hair.
"I will sweetie thank you..." She ends the phone as I place mine upon the table sighing in the process.
Later on in the afternoon we all are gathered on my grandfathers house to watch a game, however there will be some awkward tension as the kid Luke got into a fight with was Manny. Apparently the teachers found Luke sitting on his chest after Manny called him his uncle. He is right in a sense, but that's not the point.
After my grandpa welcomes us in he quickly ushers us over to one side as the game is well underway.
"Hello everyone— hello." He speaks in a quick motion.
"The game?" My mom questions.
"Oh yes." He replies returning to the couch as I let out a chuckle to myself. Suddenly I feel someone's arms wrap around me and know it has to be Jack. Turning around I met with his charming face.
"You beat us here?" I smile over my words.
"When you got a car and no other family members forgetting a piece of their clothing it's a pretty smooth ride..." He mocks me as he places his hands on his hips.
"Oh to have that life." I yearn as he smiles and plants a kiss on my forehead before we head over to the rest of my family.
"Foods on the counter beers are in the fridge I'm watching game." My grandpas words are short and sweet as my dad pauses him.
"Hold on Jay I think we just address the elephant in the room don't you think? Manny and Luke bring it in." Both kids walk over to where my dad is placed awkwardly.
"In light of what happened at school today I think we need to talk and figure it out—" Before he could continue he sentence my grandpa cuts in and announces the boys over to his side as my dad takes a step back.
