"Kids, breakfast." I hear my mother's shouts from the top of the stairs as I emerge down them promptly.
"Come on Luke let's go..." I shout towards my youngest brother's bedroom knowing he will be the last one out and downstairs.
Living with my parents in my early twenties wasn't always the plan, however it was the best option I could do. Rent in this area right now is astronomical and with what I'm earning won't even cover half of it. You can't say the same however for my boyfriend Jack, he's raking it in.
He lives above my Uncles flat which is convenient when I want to get some peace and quiet. There isn't many moments of that within this household.
"Why are you yelling for just text me?" My sister Hayley speaks without looking up from her phone as I enter the kitchen.
"Wow okay that's not gonna happen and honey do you have anything to say to your daughter about her skirt?" My mom directs hurt comment towards my Dad.
"Oh yeah that looks really cute sweetie..." My father grins.
"Aw thanks." I let out a laugh as I hear Hayley's words which doesn't go down well with my mom.
"How about you Callie seen as you're the most grown up one here..." My mother sighs as she hands a plate of eggs over to me.
"Good colour choice but maybe rethink the length Hayley." I inform her as she sighs.
"God you're sounding more and more like mom everyday..." She practically spits towards me as she directs her vision back to her phone.
"Gee thanks." Mom sniggers in the background.
"On that note I need to get ready and get some work done, Jack may be popping over some time. Is that okay?" I look over towards my parents who both have smiles upon their faces.
"Oh honey you know you don't have to ask, he's practically family now, how long has it been now three years, I'm waiting for the ring to pop onto your finger any day now..." My mom wraps her arms around me as I laugh and try to escape myself from her grasp.
"Woah hold up mom. That's a little far down the road." I laugh awkwardly.
"I can't wait for that day seeing you kids all loved up reminds me of me and your mom at your age, only your mom had a bump and you were inside of her—"
"Okay dad too much information that's not needed." I cut him off as I gazes down to the floor.
"Luke got his head stuck in the banister again..." Alex strides into the kitchen as I roll my eyes.
