[" somebody call 911"]"Look at you, you're soaked." My dad giggles through his words as he runs into the living room with Luke following not long behind him. From the state of the pair they were having one of their weekly water fights in the backyard.
"What are you two doing?" My mom asks while emptying the groceries onto the counter.
"We picked up one of them new water weasels, you hook it on to the end of the hose and it flies around in the air. It was so awesome, look how wet he is." My dad proudly displays my younger brother.
"I put the weasel in my pants." Luke proudly speaks like it is an achievement whereas my face displays otherwise.
"Is there a reason why my window is wet?" Hayley strides into the kitchen.
"Oh come on. That is lethal. Mom?" I cross my arms as my Mother shrugs her shoulders.
"Oh that is difficult to say, high five." My dad speaks sarcastically as he goes in for a high five with Luke however he pauses his actions and grabs onto his side with a painful look now overtaking his face.
"What's wrong Dad?" I quickly question as I rise from my seated position.
"Oh it's nothing just a little twinge. It's fine." My dad shrugs it off.
"I'll call 911. Maybe the firemen will come." Hayley exclaims while grabbing the phone however her actions are cut short by my father grabbing it out of her hands.
Tilting my head I sigh at the sight before me. The firemen around these parts of the neighbourhood have a reputation for being hot, and because of that Hayley and Alex want to call them after every incident within our lives. One time I got a paper cut when I was working one afternoon and ended up in the ER.
"Oh that's bad..." I hear the distant voice of my father come from my parent's bedroom as I am halfway down the hall.
Upon entering the bedroom my dad is sat upright clenching his side as my mom tries her best to comfort his pain by stroking his back in a circular motion, however this doesn't seem like it helps as my dad is now moaning in agony.
"What's wrong? Is it still painful?" I ask while rubbing my eyes.
"No, no I'm okay. Oh... no that's cancer." My dad exclaims leaning back onto the bed while the rest of my sibling enter the room after being alerted by his cries.
"Maybe it's just a kidney stone." My mom explains.
"Just Claire?! Someone get your mom a glass of water and a piece of gravel from the driveway and see how she likes it..." I try to hide my laughter while comforting my father.
"Your father is going to be okay guys." My mom tries her best to disregard his comment before hand.
"What's going on?" Luke speaks as I pull him in a little closer to my body.
