"You win the award for worst mother ever..." Hayley screams at mom as I rub my forehead in frustration.

"So Callie is it always like this or did we just come at a bad time." My uncle Mitchell ponders.

"Oh no it's always like this. Sometime worse." I shut my laptop and smile at my uncles who look terrified.

"I'll be sure to thank you in my speech." My mom claps back. "Phil the frying pans on fire!"

"Mother of— why does it keep doing that?!" My dad blast the extinguisher over the pan as I help to waft the fumes away from our faces.

"Dad you have got to stop doing this. You need to stay here when you are frying bacon..." I snap back.

"I hope the whole house burns down." Hayley echoes down the hall.

"Hayley. Not helping." I scream back.

"Did we come at a bad time?" My uncle directs his questions to my mother who is currently helping me waft the fumes from my dad's burning bacon outside.

"Come back in seven years and five months when they're all gone." My mom snaps.

My phone vibrates from my back pocket as I reach over. "Oh hey Jack—"

"Phil the fire!" My mom's voice echoes in the background.

"Is that your Mom? What's wrong in the Dunphy household this time?"

"Oh you don't want to know. Let's just say my dad wanted bacon again and now he's about to burn the whole house down." I sigh and rake my hands through my hair while planting myself on the couch in the living room.

"Sounds like a normal day." He utters down the line.

"Haha very funny. How's work going?"

"Same old. I just can't wait to see my favourite girl tonight. By that I mean baby Lily." He jokes.

"Oh yeah forget the family was having dinner at my grandpas tonight... speaking off my Uncles are over."

"Is that weird?" He questions.

"No it's just they stopped by unannounced, they never do that it's just weird that's all. Anyway I'll see you tonight yeah?" I confirm.

"Yes you will..." He murmurs as I giggle down the line before ending the phone.

That night I meet Jack in the kitchen of my Grandpas house downing a bottle of water as I creep up behind me and wrap my arms around his waist.

"Somebody is thirsty." I utter sinking into his neck.

"Long day baby." He shakes his head.

"Oh I'm sorry, you know what I have an idea, we could relive some memories and do what we used to do back in the day..." He turns to face my direction and leans himself again the kitchen counter as he takes in my request.
