stubborn - twenty one

Cody's POV

After the camping trip and what happened with Courtney. Sierra, Justin, Harold, and I decided to come visit her. The only person there was Bridgette. "Hey guys, thanks for coming," she smiled. "Of course! Can we go in?" we asked. "2 at a time," she said. Sierra and I went in first. She was watching some TV when we walked in. "Hi Courtney..!" Sierra slowly said. She looked over at us and smiled. "Hi guys!" she said. "How you feeling?" I asked as I walked over to her.

"I'm going okay, still very sore but I can go home later today," she explained. "Are you still going to school tomorrow?" Sierra asked her. "Not sure, if i'm sore most likely not," she shrugged her shoulders. "Well as long as you feel better," I smiled. She gave me a smile back. "Thanks," she nodded her head. Suddenly there was a knock at the door. We looked back, it was Justin and Harold. "Well we'll come back later," Sierra and I said to her and walked out the door. We made our way back to Bridgette.

"How was she?" she asked. "She's fine, she was just watching TV," Sierra replied. I looked around the room, no one was in the lobby. I then looked over at Bridgette. "Are you going to stay with Courtney if she doesn't go to school?" I asked her. She nodded her head yes. "Yeah either Zoey or I," she replied. I nodded my head. The doors to the waiting room opened. It was Duncan and Geoff. "How is she?" Duncan asked as he rushed over to us. "She's okay, she's just resting now," Bridgette smiled.

"She's still very sore tho, I don't think she's going to school tomorrow," I told him. He sighed and nodded his head. Harold and Justin came over to us so Duncan and Geoff left to go see her. "Well we should get going, maybe we'll come back later to visit her," Justin said to Bridgette. She smiled and nodded her head. "Thanks for coming," she said. We all walked off and left the hospital. As we were getting into the car we got text messages. I looked at my phone and it was a groupchat that Bridgette made. We just left her?

"Hey guys, if everyone can go visit Courtney at her house tomorrow before school it'll be appreciated," she texted a groupchat with everyone besides her. Everyone started testing "yes" or "okay" so I put my phone away. "Looks like we need to make a stop before school tomorrow," Harold said. "Yep.." I mumbled.

The Next Day
Duncan's POV

I made it to Courtney's house with Geoff. Bridgette was already there so she let us in, we walked inside. Courtney was sitting in her living room with her TV on. She looked back and her eyes winded. "What are you guys doing?" she asked. "We came to visit you before we headed to school," Geoff said. I nodded my head agreeing. "Well thanks guys," she smiled as well. Heather, Noah, and Cody also arrived after us. "Hey Courtney!" Cody smiled. "Hi Cody," she smiled back. "Your parents won't mind right?" he asked.

"My parents aren't really around.. they left for a business trip last night," she mumbled. "Even after what happened to you?" I asked shocked. She nodded her head yes. "But i'll be fine, I have Bridgette," she smiled. Bridgette smiled back at her. Others started showing up as well as we were all around Courtney just talking to her. Some even brought gifts which is something I maybe should have done.

An hour later

Everyone left since school was about to start so it was just Geoff, Bridgette, Zoey, Mike and I left. "You guys should start heading to school," Bridgette said to us. "You're gonna miss today?" Geoff asked. "Yeah i'm gonna take care of Courtney," she smiled. "I can stay Bridgette, don't forget you have that test in Chemistry today," Zoey said to her. Bridgette's eyes widened. "Oh my gosh I forgot about that!" she said. "Uh Zoey.. we also have a test for English," Mike reminded her. She also widened her eyes. "Shoot.. but we can't leave her alone," Zoey looked at Mike then Bridgette. "Guys! I'll be fine just go to school," Courtney said. Her usual stubborn self. "But what if you need to use the bathroom? Or get Hungry?" Zoey asked.

"I'll be fine! I don't even use the bathroom like that anyways," Courtney giggled. They all started arguing so the guys and I looked at each other. She can't be left alone and I ditch class anyways.. I can take one for the team. "Guys it's okay, i'll stay with her," I finally spoke up. "Duncan! You don't need to, I can stay alone," she said again. She's so stubborn, typical Courtney. "Court you can't stay alone, i'm staying." I said again. She tried to argue with me but I didn't listen. "Bye guys," I waved to the rest as they were leaving. They left so I locked the front door and took a seat on the other couch next to Courtney.

"Duncan you really don't have to do this, you can head with the others to school," she said again. "You and I both know I hate school," I rolled my eyes. "Exactly! You can't keep missing," she glared at me. "It's too late they left already so i'm staying," I smirked. She rolled her eyes. "Whatever but I don't need a babysitter," she said. "You're so stubborn," I yawned. She glared at me after I said that. "No i'm not," she argued. "Whatever you say.." I mumbled. This is gonna be a long day..
