hyeongjun was with jooyeon again, so this time it was the four of them, who sat at the lunch table.
or better say - hyeongjun and jooyeon mostly talked to each other, leaving seungmin and jungsu to interact with each other.
"could you please tell gunil that he's an absolute shithead?" jungsu asked with a warm smile, completely contradicting to what he just said.
and seungmin couldn't even deny it. his best friend was doing a lot of heavy shit recently.
gunil told him that he kissed jiseok. at first, seungmin thought that it was good.
as far as seungmin knew before, he thought his best friend still loved him. wrong.
his friend also told him that he couldn't tell him his new crush yet, what kind of confused him. but after all, he'll tell him some time...
"don't understand his behavior either" seungmin sighed. "i know that he falls in love with people who give him the slighest bit of attention.
a trauma response, cause- you know- his dad abuses and neglects him and shit. but treating jiseok like an object..."
jungsu scoffed, taking a bite out of his sandwich before answering. "so someone else apparently did something so he fell out of love...
i just.. feel so sorry for jiseok. knowing he is scared of rejection and abandonment makes this whole situation so- meh..."
the elder was right. that new someone must've done something with gunil.
then it hit seungmin. did gunil fall in love with him? no, that can't be.
yet thinking about it, it all made sense. gunil started losing interest after their kiss, all that crap started after their kiss.
he completely forgot to answer jungsu, thinking about the possibility of his best friend crushing on him.
and he prayed that it wasn't true. it wouldn't ruin their friendship, but seungmin was not ready to be the person gunil loved.
he would never love him back. gunil was his shadow, his second half, but not in a romantic way.
that was jungsu for him. jungsu was the one his heart ached for.
talking about jungsu, he didn't notice how he was staring at him intensely. "what? am i eating too much?" he chuckled, snapping seungmin back to reality.
"no! definitely not!" jooyeon and hyeongjun were done talking, the elder having his head on the younger's shoulder as he closed his eyes.
"they both told me a lot of stuff in the clinic" he said, alternating his gaze between seungmin and jungsu.
"jiseok is obsessed with gunil, like actually. he's the only thing he is capable of talking.
and gunil often talked about how much he wants to love jiseok back.. i think he wants to ask jiseok whether he wants to be his boyfriend, too.
because he thinks that he can force himself to love him that way. and he doesn't want to keep hurting jiseok.."
that was not okay at all. and jungsu was mad. "someone please just speak some sense into the boy!"
his loud voice startled hyeongjun, whose eyes just ripped open as he looked at their eldest with a surprised gaze.
jooyeon chuckled, grabbing the elder's hand and intertwining their fingers. "it's fine, darling" he whispered, kissing his temple and using his free hand to lay his head down on his shoulder again.
"looks like someone got their happy end" seungmin laughed, nudging his head towards their two youngest.
jooyeon seemed like the happiest man, his smile bright as he nodded. "oh, yes. wishing the same for you, too."
both of them understood something else. thinking that jooyeon wished the same for them two, they looked at each other with widened eyes, blush creeping up on their skins.
jungsu was glad to be a goth, knowing that it wasn't visible due to the white face paint, that made him seem as pale as a ghost.
seungmin looked cute, though. and jungsu felt his heart race the longer he looked at him.
yet before anything else was said, the school's bell rang again, signalising the end of their break.
