Along Came King

Jahseh Pov:

"Did they say everything on the car is working this way you don't end up taking it back again" I asked Nana.

"They said yeah it was a dead battery, bad tune up and something about my belt I don't know" she says.

We were at my house laid in the bed. Both boys were currently asleep in Kais' bedroom. King on the floor on laying on the mat and Kai was in the bed. I can almost guarantee that Kai is on the floor with King now though. He asked again if he can have another bed or a bunk bed for when King comes over. I told him we'd talk about it later.

"When do you pick it up"

"Anytime it's just, I have the money but I don't want to spend it on the car I wanted to use it for bubby. Now I feel like I have to choose between my-ou- him and the car" she said and I partially smiled.

It's been a week and a half since we have officially been deemed mom and dad of King. I know I was slighted hurt but now I'm actually happy as shit. Obviously I wish I didn't miss so much but, at the end of the day regardless the fact he would have been my son. I'm not planning on going anywhere and I don't think she will be either. We're still not together but she's been doing little shit to acknowledge that he's mine.

If he says Dada he comes to me on his on but she'll also send him to me. Around Kai she's a bit more vague with it but I think it's just so he doesn't ask questions. She will say boys daddy said this or something similar if both are involved. She's let me bathe him and take over his night routine the last few days. Usually when she would come over everything would be based on what she had and the time. She's also been cooking dinner she said this way I have times with him and she keeps telling me she'd let me hang on to him without her around. I just know she's not ready even though she trust me. I don't think I'd struggle but, I know I'd end up inviting her over anyway.

"I can help you with his party or we can do both together. I don't think anyone would say anything about it. Everyone for the most part knows we're friends. I might have some family that assumes we never broke up and some who may say they don't know you"

"You don't think it would be a dead giveaway" she asked looking at me. She had her head laid on my shoulder, her leg tossed over me and one hand under my shirt rubbing my stomach.

"There's a possibility"

"I don't want you to spend a bunch of money on both I can figure—

"If it comes to King I'm going to be more than willing to help out. I can spot you the money. He's one though mama, and you're crafty he shouldn't need much"

"What if we just invite Cleo, Dukes, Zayden, Obviously us, Stokeley, Sivahn and maybe a few more people that's close to us over that morning to sing happy birthday and we can do a big birthday breakfast for bubby. Then that evening we can have Kai's party.

"Sivahn, that's how you want me to meet him, and Zayden-

"oh my gosh"

"I'm just making sure that's what you're saying"

"You've seen him before-

"Ah , don't do that" I cut her off she started pulling the hair at the base of my stomach, feeling as if she ripped it out.

"Sorry" she said removing her hand from my shirt.

"I've glanced at him but I haven't met him face to face yet or been present outside of the time he ran into you while I was on the phone"
