Sienna POV:

"Thank you, you didn't have to"

"I know. I had called you a couple times yesterday and got no answer. Wasn't sure if it was just your anxiety tearing you apart again, and I know when I text, you just said you weren't in the mood. You know I stop by anyway if I'm in the area" Vahn says as I let him in. He came with gifts for both me and King he says as a little pick me up.

"King is taking a nap right now—

"That's fine, just means he can't mug the fuck outta me today"

"He does not"

"You right he tries to swing on me now"

"You started it"

"How? I haven't done shit to him. I get him shit every time I've gotten you something and I don't even bother him. You be telling him shit or something"

"Oh I meant to ask you, did you want to come to his birthday breakfast. We're also having Kai's birthday party later that day if you wanted to stay" I say as we sat on the couch. I haven't looked at what he brought yet.

"Is your boyfriend cool with that"

"My boyfriend? What boyfriend"

"His dad, you know who I'm talking about" he sucked his teeth.

"First of all he's not my boyfriend. Second, yes he's fine with it. Even if he wasn't he would have to be because it's my house and I invited you" I tell him. He stared at me for a second.

"Tell him I don't want no problems, we not even like that. I don't want him to get the wrong idea about us. You know he doesn't like that we give each other hugs"

"You're so annoying" I laughed.

"Remind me the day before and day of and I'll come. If I don't make one I'll make the other, just can't guarantee both, might have something else to do. Unless you want me at both" he says and I nod.

"Wait- you said my anxiety" I asked curious as to what he meant.

"Yeah you overthink like hell, that's just you though. When we were first getting to know each other it would catch me off guard the way you could switch up so fast" he says while typing on his phone.

"How'd it go with your mom" I asked to change the topic. He must feel the same way Jahseh does, like I don't know what I'm doing ,or  that's why he has an issue with King. It explains him getting stuff all the time he thinks I'm just sad and worried all the time and incapable of being a good mother without help.

"It went beautifully. We played games and shit, she was on the grill so the food was immaculate. If you're not that picky of an eater then I'll bring you and King next time. Obviously time and notice play a part but it's free food and a good time."

"Thank you, I haven't had barbecue food all summer. I can't even remember the last time I was at a barbecue"

"Now you're making me wish I brought you."

"It's okay I didn't ask and she doesn't know—

"Truthfully my moms would love you. She'd love King too even if he mugged the hell out of her. It was a lot of people though I wouldn't want you to be overwhelmed or they start messing with you. Then I'd have to cuss folks out" he says and laughed.
