starting off the new batch of UPLOADSSSDS with bottom sonic with some problems 🌝❣️

---

Sonic sat on the dinner table, playing with the plastic straw as Shadow walked off to order food. Today was absolute shit.

He didn't manage to take down any enemies today, and left it all to his partners.

Bubbling feeling in his throat, aching to be let out.

His eyes throbbed with the need to let it all out.

He just wanted to stare up into the clouds and wait for mercy to take him up to his dreams.

He wanted to forget it, but, he fucking couldn't. He was supposed to be the one standing in the frontlines and fighting off intruders and shit, but he didn't know why today, it just had to be today.

And he could've killed. He could've gotten one dead. But he didn't. He should've.

It was worse, that his teammates didn't say shit about it. They just laughed and smiled, and there was when he realised that maybe he really had no purpose.

Hm.

He sighed, taking a sip of his water. No, this was vodka. Who gave a shit, anyway.

He bit the inside of his cheeks.

Closing his eyes, listening to the people around him. Loud and bash and stupid.

... Where are you? Come back before I break a window.

Then, he felt the familiar walk. It was quiet, but he knew, he felt it. He sucked in a breath and pretended to look amused by this cute little thing.

Bringing him out on a date, treating him to this fancy restaurant, which had a small little piece of barely any food cost a million bucks.

He flicked on his light, looking at Shadow with a smile.

He hoped that Shadow wouldn't see it.

Shadow smiled, before sitting down opposite of his lover.

"So...what's wrong, love?"

Sonic looked down on his lap with an innocent look.

"...you seem like something is bothering you, sweetheart." Shadow muttered.

Fuck.

Sonic cocked an eyebrow, "Dude, what made you think of that? It's not like I had a shit face the whole ride here."

Shadow's smile faltered quite a bit, "You sure you didn't?"

"...Well, yeah, I mean..." Sonic mumbled, rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly.

The fact that Sonic was just wearing the hoodie that he had stolen from Shadow's closet didn't make things any better.

Sonic felt his face changing.

Mm, no, bad idea.

He sucked in a deep breath, "I'm positive. Aaaanyway, how've you been? You don't usually tell me about your job."

He rested his face on his hands, glancing at the work of art displayed in front of him.

He hoped his hands could hold up this face, or at least this smile for a longer period of time. His muscles weren't putting up with it.

He was trying hard not to cry. But it was terrible, horrible, it ached, it begged, it screeched for it.

Everything about this was so pitiful. And so unfair.
