Y/N POV
I stood there awkwardly, my heart racing as I watched Coda's family envelop him in warm embraces. The laughter and playful teasing filled the air.
"So, Mum, this is Y/N, the girl I was talking about," Coda said.
Brooke, his mother, turned around and her eyes lit up when she spotted me from a distance. I waved hesitantly, trying to muster a smile that hopefully conveyed a sense of ease despite my anxiousness.
"OoOoO Biggy! Is that your girlfriend?" Naz shouted playfully from her spot by the side of the car, her sisters bursting into fits of laughter, clearly making Biggy flustered.
"No, we're just friends, guys, chill out," he protested, but I could see he enjoyed the attention just a little bit.
As I stood back, I couldn't help but notice Sabre and Sockie, each gripping a camera with energetic enthusiasm. They were animatedly speaking into their lenses, and the only words that pierced through the background noise were "biggy," "picking up," and "friend."
They then walked over, smiling and friendly like.
"Oh hey! You're Y/N right?" Sabre said, putting her hand out for me to shake, so I did.
"Yep, you must be Sabre?"
"Yes! This is my sister Sockie!" she said, putting her hand onto Sockie's shoulder.
I nodded politely, talking for a while until they went back into the car, seeming to be chatting with their dad.
As the unmistakable hum of the engine drew closer, I caught a glimpse of the familiar white mercedes that had been a staple of my childhood. My mother's car, with its worn-out bumper sticker always brought a sense of comfort. She rolled down her window, her eyes scanning the scene before settling on me.
I could see a hint of a smile forming on her face, mixed with a touch of concern as she noticed the rest of the group gathered around me. The afternoon sunlight glinted off her glasses, making her expression less clear.
"Thats my mum." I said to Coda, pointing in her direction.
"Oh, okay then."
He seemed almost disappointed that I was leaving so soon.
"Text me okay?" he smiled,
"Okay,"
