*Authors note: sorry for the late chapter! I was on vacation for a few days and had no service to upload daily. Now that I'm back I'll get right into it! We're getting to the cusp of the story and I get wait for y'all to read it.
Jade's POV
Nami and Ussop clutch onto each other, screaming and crying. Luffy and I stare at each other, neither of us breaking the intense stare. "I don't want to ask again."
"And it would be a shame if you lost your ability to speak again." I break eye contact and lock my gaze with Zoro's. I keep a calm look, but my energy is anything less than lethal.
"Roronoa Zoro. You're lucky to have been trained by Mihawk. Maybe you'd be able to keep up with me." His eye twitches. I lock eyes with Luffy again, and tensions begin to crackle in the air. I step off the ledge of the ship and stand a few feet away for Luffy. Before anyone moves, two pairs of hands cover my face. I jump and try to remove them. "Wha-"
"Jade! What did we say earlier." The hands drop and hold onto my arms. The head on my left that pokes out belongs to Laila and the other on my right belongs to Allia. My eye twitches as I look at them using my arms to hold themselves up as they fall forward to look at me.
"Girls. I'm in the middle of something." They roll their eyes and stand up, standing right in front of me. They put their hands on the hips and bend at the hip slightly.
"Your face is too scary!" Laila says.
"Yeah. It'll make your face wrinkle early too and make you look ugly." Allia comments next. My hands bundle together and the urge to hit them up side the head increases every second. They twirl around each other to face the Straw Hats. They smile and wave.
"Hey Straw Hats! My name is Allia."
"And my name is Laila." They tangle themselves up slightly and face each other, holding onto each other.
"But you guys can call us the Twins!" They exclaim together with a chuckle. The tension in the air is gone, the Twins excitable energy breaking it. Luffy has stars in his eyes as he watches the Twins move about.
"Cooool!" The Twins laugh and walk over to Luffy.
"You're Luffy right?" Allia asks, putting a finger on her chin. Laila copies her movement, both tilting their heads in opposite directions. Luffy chuckles and places his hands on his hips.
"That's right." They stand up straight and smile widely. They walk back over to me and switch sides before look back at them.
"Forgive our Vice Captain." Laila says from my left.
"When it comes to our Captain, she can get a little crazy." Allia says from my right.
"They're sisters ya know!" They put their index finger up and exclaim together. I sigh, feeling a little worn out. All my pent up angry dissipates, leaving me feeling incredibly tired. The Straw Hats relax, putting their weapons down. Luffy looks at me, and the look in his eyes makes me feel bittersweet. He looks understanding once the Twins said we were sisters. Everyone knows about the aftermath of the Summit War. I pat their heads.
"We're not blood sisters. But we shared a cup of sake, and that's enough for us. We've been traveling together for a very long time before she grew up enough to build a crew." The Twins giggle and fix their hair. "Why don't you two go back and have a snack. I'll chat with them quickly so we can get going with Y/N." The Twins nod and turn to look at the Straw Hats.
"See you guys around!" They both wave goodbye and jump back on the Red Pearl. Luffy laughs and throws his hands up, waving goodbye in return.
"Bye bye!" I lean against the wall of the deck and take a deep breath in.
