Alan POV

I watched Wen smile and laugh with his new boyfriend, Jim, who owned a chicken place. I wanted to call it tacky, however, it was a fairly cute place, with good food too, though I wouldn't ever admit that out loud.

A small pang of jealousy hit me as I watched. Not because I wanted Wen back, I knew that was done, long before Jim came around. We just grew apart and I just didn't want to admit it.

No, I was more jealous of how happy they looked. Could I ever be that happy again?

"P'Alan, I'm sorry to keep you waiting."

I instantly smiled at the interrupting voice. Kaipa, the newest client of the bank, well my client, stood smiling at me behind the opposite chair

"No, no!" I insisted as I stood to greet him.

My leg gave way a little so he ushered me to sit down. He took the seat opposite as Wen brought him a drink. We both ordered and then he smiled at me expectantly.

I'd been handling his mother's multiple insurances since her passing. Well, I won't be anymore, everything was finalized a few days ago and I didn't actually need to meet up with him to tell him, but I didn't like the idea of just calling or sending a letter.

"Are there any more papers I need to go over or sign?" he asked after I remained quiet.

"Oh!" I jerked a little. "No, no more paperwork, everything is now completed and the money should be transferred to your account within the next 3 to 5 days."

"Oh, ok that's good."

Was it me, or did he sound disappointed? No of course not, I guess it was just another reminder for him that his mother was gone. I'd felt the same when mine passed.

"Yes, erm ... this will be our final meeting."

He nodded but said nothing more. Our food was delivered then and we ate in silence. I watched him as we ate, he rarely met my eye but when he did he would smile and blush.

Once I'd caught sight of Wen over his shoulder watching us, he was nodding towards Kaipa and smirking. I scowled at him but cleared my face when Kaipa looked up again.

"You didn't actually need to meet me to tell me everything was finished did you?" he asked shyly.

It was my turn to blush now as I fidgeted in my seat. He was right of course but something about him pulled me forward and made me want to be brave and honest.

"Well, no I didn't need to meet with you personally but I ... I pride myself in giving my customers the most personal attention I can."

His face fell a little which made me want to kick myself. Why was it so hard to say it was because I liked him?

"Are you like this with all of your customers?"

Shit! Now I sounded like a jackass. I made it sound like all I did was flirt with my customers and jerk them around.

"No! I meant ... not like ..." I stammered.

"What he meant was, he gives the personal touch to all his customers but only one gets him in person more than others."

Wen smirked before walking away. I wanted to punch and hug him at the same time. Words were never my strong suit unless it was about business, Wen was always the one that knew what to say.

Kaipa lowered his head but I could see the smile there. I guess I couldn't be too mad at Wen.

"Well erm ... if that is true then I appreciate your erm ... your personal attention," he blushed.
