I liked the explosive chemistry these two had. Here is what I would have hoped to happen.
As stated before I am English, I have mentioned a few times within the story about the 'Wai' greeting. However, I was unsure how to describe the wai as a past tense action. So I apologise if I have gotten that part wrong.
Wad POV
I glared at the seniors as they stood at the front of the hall. They think that just because they are older, we ought to respect them.
'What have they done to deserve my respect?' I thought to myself angrily. I was currently sitting with my arms on the shoulders of my friends on either side of me.
"Heads down! Who told you to look at us? Eh, you want to see my handsome face? Heads down," one of the seniors barked. I lowered my head slowly. I turned to face Kongpope who was next to me, he had a scowl on his face too. "Who'd want to look at their ugly faces anyway," Kongpope whispered to me, I had the urge to laugh but held it back. This had gone on for what seemed like hours.
"Ok, next time if one of you is late for the meeting again. Everyone will be punished, understand?" shouted Artit, the head hazer for the seniors. The harshest out of the group.
"Yes!" everyone shouted, I raised my head to glare again. Artit nodded and told us all to leave. I could hear several people complaining about the meetings as we left. I honestly don't even know why I bother coming to these things.
A few days later I saw one of the seniors walking towards me, Prem I think he was called. He is the hot-head of the group the most like the seniors from my school. I ignored him as I walked past, I could tell he was expecting me to 'wai' at him. 'Fat chance of that happening' I thought to myself as I continued on my way.
The next meeting I went to, he was in charge. He demanded that the student that walked past him and didn't show him some respect step forward. I knew he meant me. He decided to punish everyone just because I didn't move.
Eventually, I did step out, we got into an argument and I left. I decided that was the last time I would go to one of those meetings.
Kongpope convinced me to join the basketball team, or rather his stupid bet with the seniors meant I had to, to save face. That Prem was just asking for trouble. Luckily, we won the finals and everything seemed to calm down a little. Until I got cornered by the last team we played. They were acting like sore losers. They started beating me up, luckily someone jumped in and then a guard came up. I was surprised to see Prem panting next to me, holding me up. I honestly didn't know what to say.
"Are you ok?" he asked me concerned. I nodded but winced in pain. My ankle was killing me. "Your ankle?" he asked, I nodded. He helped me hobble to the doctors and he stayed with me. Luckily the doctor said I just needed to rest it for a bit.
He helped me get back to my room. I sat on my bed as he knelt in front of me. He opened up the first aid kit we got and started to clean my face. I winced as the cotton swab touched a cut. He looked apologetic as he continued to clean me up.
As he focused on my face I suddenly noticed how close we were, I took that opportunity to really look at him. He wasn't as handsome as Artit or Nott, but he was good looking in his own way. His sharp features gave him a rough look, but his dark eyes softened his features. As I scanned his face, his eyes locked with mine, I gasped in surprise.
"Ouch!" I winced.
"Sorry," he said as he stopped and looked away, breaking our eye contact. I nodded nervously and took the kit from him. He looked at me with a confused expression. I could feel the butterflies in my stomach turning, that expression was too cute.
