It was draining to control thousands of beasts. Her vision was connected to a thousand mirrors that showed her the point of view of her slaves. She got too involved with their supplier. Now she was running an errand for politics World Serpent didn't care for.

"I only needed to collect a few more samples."

Sitting in a small tent for weeks had drained her of grit. Her veins were tight and whenever she thought of her mission she would imitate the voice of her arrogant superior. That woman stood tall, back arched toward her rear, and posed in a prideful stance.

"Haste! Haste! You must capture the influx of Honkai beasts! It's a rare opportunity! A rare surge!" Raven mocked. "You wrinkled blanket of human skin! Who are you to boss me? Why is it that I suffer when they advance? Whose fault is this?"

She pounded the floor of the tent. The rippled of strength undid her shoddy work. She screamed through the fabric but didn't dare tear through her only means of shelter. One tantrum later and soon found her motionless. Her eyes glowed as she shifted through the thousands of mirrors.

"Holy Maiden defending. Pureblood is in camp. They're holding strong. I need to take away the Key of Creation—that stupid pure blood. Stop improving! I want to rest!"

She was poised to toss and turn, poised to throw another tantrum. She almost bit through the fabric to free herself.

"Key of Binding. Key of Creation. Even if they didn't have them I'd lose. Out of all of the anomalies. The increase in beasts spawning. The increase in Honkai energy levels. Their strength is the most annoying. I want to quit! A formal resignation! Like the Previous Era's society had!"

She prepared to blabber her worries away but the air alerted her. The danger was close. Somehow. Her instincts weren't wrong but she couldn't sense what could harm her. A beasts? No impossible. Emperor class beast could give her a bit of trouble but it would ultimately take a Judgement Class beast to deal with her.

'Those rarely spawn.'

Raven quickly crawled out from under her tent. It was the worst position at the moment. The moment she stood up thunder cracked through the air. She twisted her body but the bullet took her right arm.

'??? Is the pureblood here? Is that offspring of the Lord here?'

She scanned through the lens of her beasts. No the Holy Maiden and Schariac princess were both defending their Valkyries. Besides them who could sneak up on her? Who could match her strength?

Swish! Swish!

A dagger hissed at her throat. A shallow cut! But warm blood oozed from the cut. Silver white hair? Another scion? No? Raven drew her sword to deflect the third strike. I need to recall a few beasts. This is a disaster!

The figure disappeared from Raven's view. The only thing she could do was clench her jaw and muscles to slow the bleeding. Beasts roared and trees fell. Her slaves came to her air but anything below the Emperor Class was just fodder.

"Ack!" Raven winced.

Her many mirrors began to disappear one after the other. The worst part was she could barely catch a glimpse of her target. She was fast but not overbearing in speed. Her head was woozy from the bullet but she could still block the assailant's attack.

'If they first another one.'

Vera emerged from Raven's right side. The perfect blind spot. Her left hand held the dagger firm and her right hand supported the dagger's butt.
