<Notre Dame Cathedral>
It was a moment in battle when Eleanor marveled at the beast that stood before her. She observed a pearl-white silicon tail dance from her nest of webs before her knives. Her eyes tracked a humanoid body with wing-like appendages sprouting behind its shoulder blades. Those wings flickered like flames. Their radiation was so potent that the stone around the petal started to melt. The nun was gone and her place was a Valkyrie, clad in jet-black plate armor.
"You'll cook yourself."
Violette roared in response and lunged at Eleanor, knives ablaze like the fangs of a dragon. Every strand of Eleanor's web was sundered in her wake. The wounds left by Eleanor's knives started to sizzle and his.
'She's cleansing the poison.' Eleanor observed.
Despite the boost in strength and speed, Eleanor matched Viollette with ease. She cantered over balustrades and swung from ceiling to ceiling. Around her the banners caught fire and soon the wood beams were afflicted with the same plague.
"STAY STILL! STAY STILL STAY STILL!"
Eleanor did not heed Viollette's words, a temper had begun to set. Violette's tantrum only grew as the ceiling began to cave. Flames gluttonously consumed all materials it touched. The altar, the gold, and the ancient holy scriptures fell one by one to its worst product.
"STAY-"
Eleanor stifled Viollette's outburst with a sickening kick to the throat. The Petal soon found itself in a shallow grave as a rain of knives bore down on her.
"I-I I'M SORRY! DON'T CUT! DON'T CUT ME! DON'T CUT ME AGAIN."
Her plea was a roar and the shockwaves staved off Eleanor's attack. It was seconds before Viollette regained her senses. She stood up swaying side to side. Eleanor circled her cautiously, a crooked smile destroyed the symmetry of Viollette's face.
"You're like me... You're just like me..."
"You're not of sound mind," Eleanor grunted.
"You're like me. You have those horns. Just like me... Just like me..."
"Say we're friends, may you cease your transformation? The church is burning."
"As it should as it should... You know why. You know why... You and I were made by the church... by the church. Ha, isn't this Notre Dame?! Somehow, somehow it always finds a way to burn down!"
"You should surrender,"
With a thought Eleanor's divine key appeared. A gleaming white spear of seemingly holy properties. One that could only be wielded by divinity. Violette continued to chuckle, until finally, the cinders of the church fell on her head. Her wings diminished and she started to eye Eleanor with the same calculated look that she wore before.
"Where did you receive your horns?"
"Do I have to entertain you?"
"If you answer my questions I may surrender."
"Ressume your original form."
Violette dropped her knives but her transformation wasn't undone. She seemed to grow hotter and hotter, upon closer inspection, fire fractions could be seen dotting the hilt of her knives. Their glistened and burned almost blue.
"I found another like me, most didn't survive. They bonded us with the blood of beasts. They tortured, cut us, and played with our bodies to satisfy their morbid curiosity. You survived and so did I, why do you still defend the church? Why do you bother risking your life, for those ... creatures?"
