Kai walked quickly towards the door. She had a feeling that Asher was outside... It was a place that he goes when he feels overwhelmed but doesn't want others to know.
As Kai quickly turned a corner, she suddenly slammed into someone else.
"Oh! I'm so sor..." Kai's voice trailed off as she stared into Asher's eyes. "Asher, hey I was just looking for you."
He smiled softly, which was a welcome change from his usual sly grin. "Well, you found me."
Kai's smile faded as quickly as it had come. "Asher what's going on with you?" she asked quietly.
His face fell and he reached his hand behind his neck. "I mean nothing really."
Kai made a face, "nothing really?"
"Well... yeah," he said slowly.
Kai wanted to smack him. Obviously, everyone could tell the way he was acting was not "nothing"
"You were trying to tell me something the other day. Before Biana interrupted us in the Healing Center," Kai said noticing him cringe as she said it. "What was it?"
"Oh umm, that... I don't... remember," he said.
He kept rubbing the back of his neck and Kai could clearly tell that he did remember. Meaning it was probably something important.
"Oh okay," Kai said trying to hide her disappointment. "Wanna go to my locker with me really quick?"
She was just trying to get back into the normal friendship they had before.
"Yeah sure," he said smiling again.
They started heading down the hallway to her locker. Kai saw Kyo follow from a distance, which she appreciated.
"You saw that I got a bodyguard right?" Kai said quietly.
Asher glanced around, probably looking for Kyo. "Yeah, I heard."
Kai laughed. "I guess it's about time... you know after everything."
"Definitely," Asher said sighing. "You've had too much happen to you."
"Yeah, I guess." She said as they approached her locker.
Kai licked the sensor and tasted something sweet. It was almost like ripplepuffs, but different.
"I really am not excited for-" Kai gasped lightly when she pulled out her Elvin history book.
"Oh my god," Kai whispered grabbing Asher's arm, pulling him close.
"What?" He whispered back, but as he looked into her locker Kai saw the realization dawn on his face.
"It's the Neverseen's," she whispered.
"No way," he said, and he started to grab the note and flower hidden in her locker.
"Shhhh," Kai shushed him. She didn't want Kyo seeing this, Kai had a feeling she would go berserk.
"Act normal," she whispered.
He stood up fully and leaned against the other locker next to hers. "Hmm like this?"
He started doing weird poses like he was in a photoshoot or something.
"Perfect," Kai said laughing. She grabbed the flower and shoved it into her pocket and slipped the note into one of her textbooks.
"Let's go," she said closing her locker.
They walked out the doors that led to the garden. It was usually private so that's why Kai picked to go there.
She saw Kyo lean against a tree that was out of earshot. She was very grateful she had such a chill bodyguard.
Kai slowly pulled the note out of her textbook and opened it. Asher leaned in closer to read it, which gave Kai butterflies.
Kai, I know that you're already doing so much for me, but I need help. It seems that I need to access the Vacker estate. I swear it's nothing to do with Alvar, I just need to see the gates, but there's no way I'll get access unless they let a visitor in. Tomorow, 9 am be at the Vacker estate. When you help me, I'll be sure to get your father's belongings he's left for you.
- Lady Gisala"What does that even mean?" Asher whispered.
Kai had no explanation, but she immediately knew that she needed to. She knew the risk was huge, and that she potentially could be getting into huge trouble, but she knew that she needed to do it.
"I have to," Kai whispered.
Asher's eyebrows scrunched. "What!?" He said a little loudly, making Kai cringe and glace towards Kyo. She was looking at them but didn't look concerned.
"If you meet her, I'm coming." He said.
Kai opened her mouth to argue but he interrupted her.
"I don't care what you say, I'm coming."
