Before they even got there, Gemini had a heart-to-heart talk with Fourth, helping him get dressed and comb his hair. Fourth's hair was also getting longer, and the previous evening, before they said goodbye to Pierre, who had arrived at the Institute with them through a secret passage, Gasly had, as a joke and at the request of a clearly amused Phuwin, enchanted the hair of all six of them so that each pair had streaks in the colors of their choice.
“I want blue and pink!” Fourth exclaimed in delight. Gemini could already see the Magicians staring at them in the Institute, imagined their scolding glances and persistent, judgmental whispers. After all, it was not proper for candidates for the future king to play like little children. A king should be dignified, serious, preferably decisive and strict. And Gemini somehow could not see this severity in his beloved. Nattawat seemed to be too gentle, and his behavior supported that view.
“Like Alpine?” Pierre replied with a quiet laugh.
Gemini invited Pierre to their apartment, ordered the house elves to prepare a full meal, reminded Fourth to take another dose of vitamins, and politely asked Gasly to spend the evening with them. Which he regretted a moment later, because Pierre turned out to be a prankster like no other!
Fourth, without Gem’s knowledge, wrote short messages to Dunk and Phuwin, and they also appeared in their apartment, and they were not alone. Joong clung to Dunk’s arm as if it were his only safe haven. Fourth easily guessed that Pond would do the same, if only Phuwin would let him. Gemini got a little pissed when he saw that one of the house elves had also set a bottle of alcohol on the table. He immediately took the glass to the bathroom and poured the entire contents down the toilet.
“We don’t drink alcohol in this room,” he said and made a few sweeping movements with his hand with the stele, and in front of him appeared a white metal plate with a print made in red paint: «NO ALCOHOL PERMITTED HERE». Phuwin reacted to this with laughter, but Pierre, who already knew the whole story, just looked at Fourth worriedly.
A few minutes later they were talking quite freely. For the first time in a very long time, Gemini didn’t worry about anything, he didn’t think about anything, he just sat there, resting his head on Fourth’s shoulder, and holding his hand on his pregnant belly. The little one under Fourth’s heart reminded of itself from time to time, performing something that Phuwin jokingly called acrobatics. Gem could feel all these movements and surprisingly it calmed him down and allowed him to fully relax.
“Wait, so we’re talking to… the King of France?!” Dunk exclaimed in such surprise that his reaction caused a general outburst of laughter.
“Yes, brother, that’s the king of the French Shadowhunter Institute.”
“Oh my! That’s great! That’s awesome! I’ll be able to brag that I spoke to the king himself! Pierre, would it really upset you if I asked you to take a picture of us together? I want to post it on Insta,” Dunk suggested timidly, while reaching for his phone lying on the table.
“You, bro, but do you know that in the Non-Magic world, Pierre is only a Formula 1 driver? In their world, no one knows that Pierre is a king,” Gemini decided to ruin his brother’s good time. He watched with satisfaction as his face turned sour.
“JUST A FORMULA 1 DRIVER?!” Fourth, hearing Gem's statement, exclaimed in irritation. “Did you, Mr. Norawit, just call an exceptional athlete and an amazing person, and a handsome guy, JUST A FORMULA 1 DRIVER?!”
Gemini wasn't sure what he should feel. After all, he was really annoyed by Fourth calling Gasly handsome.
“I only told the truth, Gasly IS a Formula 1 driver”.
