Brady POV

today was the day i would find out if i was getting out on bail or not.

the main reason i wanted out was to make sure callie was okay. it had been a week and id heard nothing from anyone.

as they took me from my cell towards the court room, i caught a quick glimpse of callie standing with my family and friends.

we locked eyes, just for a fraction of a second, but it was enough to make me feel as though i would get through today

and then i saw marcus, sat in the back row with his dad, a smirk on his face.

as court began, i found myself not being able to focus on anything they were saying. i kept my focus on callie.

i knew she knew marcus was here, but she stayed strong, smiling at me as we stole glances at eachother.

"we've had a recent discovery that we feel the court is obliged to take into consideration when deciding onto clients bail" brady's lawyer spoke

"proceed" the judge spoke, as brady's lawyer flipped through the book in front of him

"my client has undoubtedly committed a crime here. a crime that can be justified with specific circumstances" he continued, "and just this morning, a 17 year old girl, callie preston, who is a close friend of brady's, has filed charges on the plaintiff, marcus livingston, for aggravated sexual assault"

i immediately turned to callie, who was trying to smile at me through the tears threatening to fall.

i couldn't smile back. i tried, but i was in shock.

she was so adamant on never telling anyone.

she did it for me

"we would like to request the court take this into consideration when deciding bail for my client"

i turned again, to see that marcus was just as shocked as me at this. clearly he hadn't been aware of this until now. that nearly made me laugh.

and, by some miracle, i got bail

and as o was released, callie ran, jumping into my arms as i held her tightly.

she did this for me.

as i put her down, i stared into her eyes, seeing the pure joy in them.

and as happy as this moment was, we still had a long way to go from here. and things were not going to be easy.
