I watch as Austin walks over to the kitchen and slides his hand across the bench as he walks around, looking very pleased with the house we've got. But it seems odd to me, they give us a beautiful house, but what do we give them in return?
I get up off the couch which is freaking amazing and walk up stairs to find Alan. The second floor reveals two rooms, I walk past the first which is a bathroom, with a huge bath- 'I'm so going in that first' and as I pass the second room it appears to be a bedroom or an office as it's quite small, and the last room has an Alan Ashby standing in it looking out the window, 'this is my chance.' I tiptoe behind him without making a noise,
"BA!!" I yell in his ear,
He jumps about 10 feet in the air and lands on the window frame which has a little shelf and clutches his heart dramatically,
"Holy shit Nori, don't do that," he says, looking at me as if I gave him a heart attack, which I kinda did hehe.
I smile at him and he smiles back, we walk downstairs and find Austin laying on the couch- feet up in the air, hands behind his head living the life.
"Ahem," I say, making him jump '2 scares to Nori, none to the boys.'"What's up stairs?" Asks Austin sitting up,
"Two rooms and a bathroom which possibly has the biggest bath tub ever," I say "and don't you find it odd how they give us an amazing house all for free but they don't ask anything of us?"
Austin looks at me for 10 seconds, as if he realised that I'm right "that is kind of strange," he says "but we might as well enjoy it while we can." He gets up off the couch and walks outside onto the deck which has the view of the city.
Me and Alan follow him outside and stand next to him enjoying the view.
There's so many kids here, I wonder if they have a school system or something set up? Not that I'm complaining though, it is nice without having to go to school, I didn't have that many friends anyway, and then it hits me- my two friends, Ava and Clair, I wonder if they're here? I hope they're okay.
"Do you want to go exploring?" I say to the boys who look at me and nod, so we hop down the stairs and get to know our new little community.
I notice there's a lot of guards, which is good because we have a defence system, but kinda scary at the same time from all the weapons.
We're 2 streets over from our house when we're greeted by Trent, who seemed to have no interest in us at all an hour ago but now is all over us."Hey! How are you all settling in?" He says jogging over to us smiling, ugh, his smile is so gorgeous, "oh, sorry about leaving you hanging back there, I had stuff to do and I'd get in trouble if I was late," he says chuckling,
"We're doing great, and the house is amazing by the way, thank you for escorting us there," says Austin
"Glad to hear, the soldiers stay in the main building if you ever need any help," says Trent smiling at me then walking away, leaving Alan and Austin gawking at me grinning.
I grunt and start walking the opposite direction when my stomach grumbles, I wonder if they have a shop or cafe here.We walk through town in search for food, when we're all lifted off our feet
by the smell of a BBQ. I could really go for hamburger right now, and we're first in line too, even better.
I order a hamburger when the man serving me says "that's $2," shit, we don't have any money. But Trent saves the day when he offers to pay for mine and the boys burgers, making me blush like crazy.
I thank him and we walk away with our food, and I basically inhale the burger because I'm that hungry when Alan nudges me and wiggles his eyebrows at me, "that was kind of him to buy your food for you," says Alan
"Yeah he also brought yours and Austin's so unless you believe he has a crush on both of you too I suggest you shut it," I say making Alan look scared for his life, I may be small, but I'm mighty. We're casually walking and chatting to ourselves when I'm tapped on the shoulder, I turn around and find a man in a solider inform looking down at me,
"Are you Eleanor White?"
I hear Alan giggle next to me, ugh, I hate my name, it's so girly- and I'm the complete opposite of girly which is why I shorten it to Nori.
"Yes, I'm Nori White." I say, slightly concerned at how he knows my first and last name.
He stretches his arm out to shake my hand and says "I'm Mark, I work with your father."
