"You don't think it's a bad idea putting up signs for all people to see?" I say, regretting questioning him.

"I don't, why would you say that?" He asks, sounding a little agitated.

"Well.. Uh it could lead to-"

"Her ex from school coming." Says Austin quickly, "please excuse us." And he drags me off the wall to a nearby building where the commander walks off to check on Alan and Trent.

"Nori, I don't think you're thinking straight," says Austin, "that's an army officer, you never question an army officer."

"I'm sorry- but an ex of mine turning up from school?" I say laughing, "that was your excuse?"

"Sweety, you should be thanking me for saving your butt back there." He says giggling,

I giggle "yes, thank you. But next time, find a more valid excuse," I say "Trent's my first boyfriend," I whisper climbing back onto the wall.

*TRENTS'S POV*

Me and Alan stand in silence, I haven't really gotten to know him real well since joining with his group.
He starts singing a tune which I'd hear Nori sing sometimes, I believe it's "would you still be there" when we hear someone clear their voice behind us.

"Hello, commander." I say and Alan nods to him.

"You'll want to get your girlfriend under control," he says sternly, great, what did she do this time. The thought makes me smile, she's always getting herself into mischief.

"Lieutenant?" He says waking me from my daydream.

"What has she done?" I ask, my feet plastered to the ground and standing up straight respectfully.

"She questioned my decision to place signs in surrounding areas to recruit new people." He says, sounding astonished. But I have to agree with Nori, that's a horrible decision, god knows who'll walk through these gates.

But to protect myself and Nori, I lie.

"I'll speak to her about this, I'm sorry she questioned you, commander." I say and he smiles and walks back to his house.

"Do you always have to obey him like a slave?" Says Alan sniffing,

"Unfortunately, yes." I say, I never really liked the solider routine anyway.

*NORI'S POV*

I watch as the commander chats with Alan and Trent, no doubt he's talking about me. Don't get me wrong, he's a nice guy, but he needs to let the solider profile go. We're living in an apocalypse, not an army base. And it just so happens for all the soldiers that came with him to die and just for him to survive? now he's putting up signs to recruit more people? Seems kinda fishy to me.

"What are your thoughts?" Asks Austin,  "you've been staring over there for 3 minutes without moving an inch."

"I don't like him," I say, "this whole place seems funny to me."

"It does for me too," says Austin. Thank god, I thought I was the only one.
"Hey, do you remember that time it was just you, me and Alan on the bus, and he was digging through your bag and found a tampon?" Says Austin giggling,

"Yes! And he thought it was a lolly!" I say laughing,

"They were good times," says Austin stilling giggling,

"Yes they were, I miss that bus," I say my laughter dying down,

"So do I, so many memories on there." Says Austin, "we were once messing about on the bus one a tour a few years ago, and a bag of roasted nuts were spilt on Tino's lap, we were so saddened by that because they were the good kind,"

"And then Tino said "look at my nuts," I say giggling and Austin yanks his head and turns to me with his mouth hanging wide open,

"How'd you know that!?" He says gasping.

"I'm a fan of your band remember? I knew you's inside and out," I say giggling, dedicated fan right here.

"Oh yes, I almost forgot." Says Austin sadly, "it's sad how much the apocalypse has changed us and our memories, I sometimes wake up and forget where I am, thinking I'm still touring Australia."

"Well you kinda are," I say nudging him, "and I'm your personal tour guide!"
