Today we decided to go shopping and buy the things we need. I made sure to have every basic at home, but now we'll be adding our own touch and what we need. Moreover, we have already cooked a few times.
"Please don't let today be a bad hijab day!" I hear Aaliyah plead, while struggling with her hijab. I walk towards her after I'm done with wearing my jean jacket.
Aaliyah decided our outfits, which consist of a baggy jeans, a white t-shirt and a jean jacket on top, paired with white sneakers. Hers is a blue and white long dress with fluffy arms with a matching hijab and the same white sneakers as mine, but a few sizes smaller.
"Let me," I inform her as I take the pin from her hand and turn her around to face me. "You want it like this?" I style her hijab, as I think she was intending to and turn her around to face the mirror.
"Yes, the long side should stay over my shoulder." She points at her right shoulder and I nod.
I put the long end on her shoulder and pin the rest to her undercap, "Like this?" I ask turning her around. "Omg! Yes, thank you! I was about to have a mental breakdown," she sighs dramatically and wipes the invisible sweat on her forehead.
"Always welcome my baby Liya!" I coo and hold her waist pulling her closer. I peck her lips quickly and she giggles. "Let's go, or we'll get late!" She urges, her cheeks tinted and I'm sure she just used sunscreen, so it's my effect.
I smile at her and hold her hand, walking towards the bed where her purse lay and took it putting both our phones into it, while the rest was already in there.
Downstairs we both grabbed a cup of water before heading out, as it was indeed a sunny day.
Arrived at the stores, we strolled around the shelfs, choosing what we need and what not. Going through many rows to find everything, as we're new to this store and it's our first time shopping here.
After we have everyting apart from the meat, we head to the local butcher who is a Muslim and thus the meat he sells is halal.
We carefully choose from the variety of meat and add a few spices and oriental goodies.
After a good three hours of shopping we decide it's time to eat something so we head back home. Arrived we pray Dhuhr before helping each other in the kitchen to craft a delicious meal with the fresh ingredients we just bought.
I notice Aaliyah struggling to cut the onions, "Let me do that," I intend to take the knife away from her but she refuses. The amount of times she is sniffing, I'm sure there are going to be tears flowing down her cheeks in a few seconds.
"Don't be a stubborn baby, Aaliyah!" I counter and she stoped her actions and glared my way. "I'm not a stubborn baby!" She retorts, pointing the knife in my direction.
"Haww!" I raise my arms in surrender and pretend to be hurt. "You're already willing to kill your husband?" I ask, my eyes betraying innocence.
"Take your words back and you'll stay alive!" She asserts and I smile mischievously.
