Madisons POV:
The night had crept in quietly. I was sprawled out on the couch, watching the others chat and laugh, but I felt a restless.
I was so fucking tired.
Then, without warning, the sound of rain started pattering against the windows, eventually escalating into a storm.
I hated thunder, it was horrible, especially at night when I tried to sleep through a nightmare. It would just make it worse.
We had decided to go on a night walk but looks like that plan is cancelled, Gran Lizzy was still not back.
"Looks like we might be stuck here for a bit," Jake said, glancing outside. "Anyone up for a movie?"
All I wanted to do right now was crawl under the covers, or some fresh air.
"Sure, but I think I'll head to my room," I replied, forcing a smile, as a flash of lightning illuminated the room, making me jump.
I needed a moment to breathe.
"Alright," they all said.
As I stood up, I noticed West leaning against the wall, he was on the phone with someone. He cut the call and walked up to me.
"You okay?" he asked, sounding genuinely concerned.
"Yeah, just need some air," I sighed.
But as I turned to walk down the hallway, West stopped me. "There's a fucking thunder outside. You're not going alone," he said, "I'll come with you."
"Fine," I said, my heart racing as I led him upstairs.
The house felt quiet, the only sound was thunder. We reached the balcony door, and I sigh.
He opened the door and a sudden wave of cold air hit me, with a bit of rain. But god was it refreshing.
I turned to West, "I'm not really tired. I just want to stay up here for a bit."
He studied me for a moment, "Yeah, I get that. Let's chill in a room instead," he suggested, leading the way.
Once inside, he closed the door behind us.
I felt my heart rate quicken, but I brushed it off as nerves.
"Sit down," he said, laying down on the bed, and I sat next to him.
"Just so you know, I'm terrible at picking movies," he admitted, "So if you want to watch one, you're better off going downstairs."
"I already know." I rolled my eyes.
The thunder rolled outside, and I instinctively moved closer to him as another flash of lightning lit up the room.
West noticed and let out a low chuckle, but it didn't feel mocking. Instead he leaned into me.
"You're okay." he smiled.
Eventually, it was storming heavy outside, the wind and rain was drumming against the window.
I sighed, "I don't want to go downstairs."
"Mmh," he hummed.
I sat up, "Let's do something else."
"And by something else, you mean...?" he smirked looking at me.
I hit him with a pillow, "I don't know, West use your imagination." I said, leading on his teasing for a bit.
