Song is 'Say You Won't Let Go' by James Arthur.

I love this chapter.

*********

It was almost midnight, but sleep refused to come. I lay in bed, staring up at the ceiling, my mind racing with everything that had happened. No matter how much I tried to shut it out, the thoughts kept coming back.

My heart pounded, and I couldn't stop thinking about West.

Where was he? It had been almost three hours since he stormed out, and I hadn't heard anything since.

Every minute that passed made the knot in my chest tighter.

What if something happened to him?

What if he's in trouble?

What if-

I told myself he was fine.

That he just needed space, but the worry was eating at me.

The house was eerily quiet, I needed fresh air. I needed to breathe, to think.

Maybe that would help calm my mind. Quietly, I slipped out of bed, careful not to wake anyone, and made my way to the balcony.

The cool night air hit me as soon as I stepped outside, and for a moment, I just stood there, taking it all in. The stars were scattered across the sky, and the moon cast a soft, silvery glow over everything.

I leaned on the railing, staring out into the darkness, trying to make sense of everything.

I wasn't mad at him. I couldn't be.

Not after everything that had happened. I understood why he had shut down, why he'd kept pushing me away. But that didn't make it hurt any less.

The truth was, I cared about him.

More than I had realized.

And the thought of losing him... of him not being in my life... that scared me more than anything.

I didn't want this distance between us. I didn't want the silence, the uncertainty. I wanted him here.

I just didn't know if he felt the same.

The creak of the door behind me snapped me out of my thoughts.

I froze, my heart skipping a beat, and then I felt it—someone was there. Slowly, I turned around, my breath catching in my throat.

It was him.

West stood there, his face shadowed in the moonlight, but even in the dim light, I could see the exhaustion.

Neither of us spoke for a long moment, just staring at each other, processing the fact that he was finally here.

I didn't know what to say. All the words I had been rehearsing in my head disappeared.

He took a step closer, his voice low but steady. "We should talk."

I swallowed, nodding. "Okay."

He glanced around the balcony, then back at me, "Come with me. I want to show you something."

I blinked, confused. "Show me what?"

He didn't answer right away. Instead, he moved to the edge of the balcony, standing on top of the railing as it met the roof.

My eyes widened as he gripped the edge and hoisted himself up, climbing onto the roof like it was second nature.

My heart raced as I watched him stand there, completely steady, his gaze locked on me. "Come on," he said, his voice quieter now. "It's safe, I promise."
